1978 Porsche 911SC Targa For your consideration is this Guards Red, European Spec (lighter and faster). Targa 911SC, VIN 9118310282. This is a great running little car, it’s handling is tight and responsive... as a Porsche should be. -Exterior- The body is in good condition, the car was repainted several years back in guards red and still shows very well. While not perfect, the paint shows extremely well on this 911, you will certainly not be ashamed to pull up at the country club or at a fine restaurant. Everything in the car works 100% including all guages and accessories. The car is further complimented by the original Fuch rims, H4 “Euro” lights. All the glass is nice and clear with no scratches or hazing. The targa top was recently reupholstered inside and out with brand new materials. -Interior- The interior is in good shape, the carpet is in outstanding condition as are the door panels. The dash is in mint condition with no cracks or imperfections. The front seats have a little wear, but still have many years of use before needing replacement The rear seats appear as to have never been sat in. The headliner is brand new, the carpets are clean and there are no strange odors. -Engine & Transmission- This 911 was previously owned by a Porsche mechanic. The engine is perfect, the 3.0 power plant is perfectly tuned, runs strong, starts up on the first try each and every time. This machine does not burn or leak a drop of oil. According to the previous owner, the engine and transmission were completely rebuilt a few years back and all major components were addressed within the last few years including installation of new brakes (rotors, calipers, master cylinder), were serviced, ignition components replaced, fuel system overhauled etc, etc. This 911 runs and idles as it should, with no problems. It is a great running little Porsche, always (professionally) maintained on schedule. The standard upgrades have been done, including the installation of “Carrera” hydraulic chain tensioners. The exhaust has been upgraded and now runs headers into a sport exhaust...this 911 sounds mean. The engine is completely dry and there are no leaks anywhere, even after sitting in the garage for a couple of weeks the garage floor is spotless. This car has been religiously maintained. The transmission shifts seamlessly through the gears with no slipping or grinding. There are no strange noises or vibrations from the engine or drive train, all you hear is the music of the flat six. The ride in this 911 is great, there are no squeaks, rattles or other unwanted noises, the car drives straight and true...there is nothing indicating this car is over 33 years old! The car is free on any liens, I have a clean title in hand and it is ready for a new home. -TERMS OF SALE- I have full faith in the quality of this vehicle and confidence in the accuracy of it’s description, unfortunately disclaimers have become part of life these days hence the following: Buyers are more than welcome, and even encouraged to inspect the vehicle in person BEFORE the auction ends.
