Vehicle Detail
Listed for sale is a beautiful 1968 Triumph TR6C in its original glory! This bike is an eye catcher and people around here love the patina left after 44 years but it also makes for an incredible restoration candidate if that is what you seek! The Smiths speedo shows 19,462 miles and it will remain that way until the buyer picks it up! I have some documentation on the bike's ownership history but it is not currently titled and will be sold "as is" with a bill of sale. If you have ever bought an old bike you know how to get a good title for it! Its ownership started in New Hampshire, made its way to Tennessee and it now resides in the bluegrass hills of Kentucky. I bought the bike early in 2010 because I loved the lines and I rode it through last fall. I confess that I don't have much history with owning motorcycles and, specifically, much experience with the type that have a loving desire to smoke a bit at times and feel content to leak oil - as all old Triumphs do. Late October the bike became somehow stuck in first gear which I've been told is likely just an issue with a spring in the gear box, but the bike will not start as a result. I'm not good with a wrench so it's time to send it to the shop or let someone who loves old Triumphs make a quick fix and have a piece of history to ride. Up until the gear issue it has been a second kick starter and a wonderful bike to ride. There is also a crack/open hole near the chain guard on the left side of the bike but it has given me zero problems. It was like that when I bought it and I've included a pic for your review. If you are a Triumph guy you will immediately notice the value of the bike and its original parts. The seat is in question as to originality - I have received mixed opinions on whether or not a seat of that type was ever offered. The consensus is that it's aftermarket but I still think it complements the bike so I left it on. I have an additional set of cafe style handle bars and some fairings as well that will go with the sale if you would like to have them. This TR6C will need to be picked up or I am happy to assist in a delivery method at the buyer's expense. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! Please feel free to ask questions or make me aware of any additional photos you would like to see - I will do my best to get any requests answered quickly!
