Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Just found, fresh barn find 1969 Pontiac GTO (Vin 242379Z103721) 400 V8, 4 spd with vintage Hurst Shifter. New front tires, starter, master cylinder, and battery. RUNS AND DRIVES! odometer shows 97k. Nice seats and glass, no dents; this car is VERY straight. Tagged last in 1994, has sat under a car cover since then. Many extra parts including misc. interior parts and spare set of heads and has a stack of receipts back to 1988. Nice chrome, looks good, fun to drive! Gets lots of looks... The engine is a WT code, non numbers matching. There is only a fractional amount of rust on the frame and under the hood; also below the corners of the rear window there is a very small amount of rot. The car does not have a console and does not have ram air. It has been in the arid desert climate of eastern Washington for at least 25 years. The paint is dull on the top, hood and trunk, but glossy on the sides. The passenger corner of the dash pad is warped and cracked as shown in the picture. The vacuum operated headlights do not work at this time. The car has been modified with aftermarket gages and headers plus an accel ignition and electric fuel pump. It fires right up EVERY TIME and runs good. Clutch is fine. Originally the car was green with a gold interior but has since been redone. My best guess is that this happened in the 80’s since the former owner informed me it was blue and black when they bought it in 1988. The former owner’s husband bought the car off a car lot here in Kennewick in 1988 for $6,000; he drove it till he died in the early 90’s when the car was parked and covered. It sat there until very recently when we rescued it. This car would make a nice driver or restoration candidate. It is not perfect, but is far from a rusted hunk of junk. This is a nice muscle car.
