Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1981 Malibu Station Wagon. It has 217,000 miles, and was used as my every day car for over 6 years. And although it needs a little work, it still runs like a top. It's got a V6 229 Chevy engine with a 350 transmission. And, being this was the second one of these that I've owned (I had an 83 prior to this one that I harvested), it comes with a back seat full of spare parts. It's got a power steering leak, which I'm pretty sure is the top seal on the gearbox, but I've got a spare gear box in the back. The gas tank leaks over 3/4 full, but I've got a spare gas tank in the back, which was actually a replacement for the 83, not its' original. And it's probably time for a new battery. The air pump and A/C compressor were removed many moons ago. The left rear door latch started acting up, so I started using it as a 3 door. I bought it in Wisconsin with some surface rust that I had touched up about 5 years ago, but that's starting to come through again. I stayed with the factory color when it was re-painted. I had the windshield replaced when the body work was done, but that one now has a crack across it. The frame is solid, and in my opinion this car is certainly restorable for someone into that. I used to get comments on it all the time. There's mounted snows on it right now, and a spare set of rims in the back. It also has the original, still working, push button AM/FM radio. I've also got a spare set of heads, a spare intake, a set of spare exhaust manifolds, and a driveshaft. Again, all 229 parts. I know what I can get for it for scrap, but would hate to see that happen to it. I'm obviously selling it "As Is". Email me with questions.
