Vehicle Detail

THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. The highest bidder gets it. Please do not bid until you have read all of the information below, looked at all of the pictures, and verified that you have the funds to complete the purchase. I am selling my 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 4X4. This is a very dependable automobile which has been my daily driver for the past 5 years. I purchased it at 160,000 miles from a gentleman who owned it from 30K to 160K miles. Between the two of us, this truck has been babied. It has been garaged and regularly maintained. Neither of us utilized it for recreational off-roading. Besides driving me to the office, I occasionally used it for camping and canoe trips. It is a very fun vehicle, its simplicity is refreshing. Options for this vehicle include:ARB bumper/grill guard with 9500lb. Warn winchOME suspension lift (2.5")Yakima Roof Rack.Tuffy console lock boxAlpine AM/FM/Cassette with 6 disc CD changer4-speed manual transmission4X4 with lock out hubsFog Lights The mechanical aspect of the car is sound. As far as I'm aware, everything works. The A/C is cold. It's oil level stays good between changes (less than 1qt. down at oil change time). There is no appreciable oil burning or leaking. It starts every time, I never question whether it will start and run great. I like the manual choke, it really works well on cold mornings. Items that have been repaired/replaced during my ownership include brake master cylinder, rebuilt carb., and a new clutch at 220,000 miles. The interior looks remarkably good. There are no unusual/undesirable odors; It's never been owned/driven by a cigarette smoker. The previous owner kept seat covers on all of the seats for the first 160K miles. The fabric has only been uncovered for the years while I have owned it. As you see from the pics, the interior looks amazing. The only imperfections in the interior are the following: Broken knob on the glove box door; this is merely cosmetic and the opening/closing mechanism is unaffected. There is a 1" cut in the vinyl cushioned covering to the Tuffy lock box. As seen in the photos, there are superficial scuffs and some minor carpet wear signs at the door thresholds. Overall, the interior couldn't look much better-unless you're comparing it to a completely restored model. Examination of the pictures shows this FJ60 to be in very good condition. It's lifted just the right amount to look stout, without being overboard. I get a lot of complements on it when I encounter people in parking lots and filling up at the gas station. The paint looks very good; it's shiny, there are no dents or full thickness scratches. The hood shows NO evidence of sun damage, although the drivers door does have a small 1" patch of polishing-compound burn. There is NO rocker panel or door threshold rust (see pictures). There are some imperfections in the paint finish, as follows: several paint chips around the wheel wells, portions of the adhesive decals below/on lower door panels are chipped and partially missing & two-1" rust blisters (one on each side) on the rear fenders. I would rec. that the new owner have these blisters repaired while they are still small and easily addressed. If you're looking for a show-car, you should limit your search for the vehicles that boast a complete, frame-up restoration; This FJ cannot compete with the perfection of those that have undergone a high level restoration. It IS, however, in remarkably good condition for a 25 year old vehicle that has not been restored. If you are interested, and can possibly see the vehicle in person before buying, I welcome you to look it over and take it for a test drive. If you are looking for a reasonably priced FJ60 that looks great, is mostly original, and has been extremely well maintained, this is the truck you've been looking for. I have enjoyed it for five years and I expect it will provide good service to its new owner for many more years. Their durability and reliability is legendary; most will exceed 400,000 miles without a hiccup. Also, keep in mind the excellent resale value for these classics. If you take care of her, there's no reason you won't be able to resell it for your purchase price someday; their current price should never go lower, as long as you maintain them.
