Vehicle Detail
For sale is this custom built CRF/CR 250X featuring an 07 CRF250R frame housing an 01 CR250 (V stamped cylinder) 2 stroke engine. The 01 CR250 engine is regarded as the ultimate CR engine and it was mounted in the CRF chassis in order to gain the updated features from the CRF as compared to the donor CR chassis. This machine was built in 2010 and has been ridden approx. 30 hrs. The build began with a NEW 07 CRF250R frame and swingarm. Also new 07 CRF250X forks, shock, and subframe were utilized. The engine was from a very clean low hour 01 CR250R. The frame was professionally modified using new frame cradle tubes and retains a factory Honda appearance. This bike was built for off road type riding and features CRF250X front and rear suspension, fuel tank, petcock with reserve, and subframe which includes a coolant overflow tank to aid cooling should the engine become overheated as is common in slower off road riding conditions. The triple clamp assembly from an 08 CRF250R is installed giving the 22mm offset as compared to the earlier models 24mm, this modification was made to improve handling in the turns. Although no steering damper is present, these triple clamps and the 08 style number plate could accomodate a factory Honda damper with the addition of a frame clamp that is available from MX Bonz. As stated this bike was ridden for approx. 30 hours and during that time no performance issues were uncovered, it rides and operates as a offroad motorcycle should. This is a very well designed and built hybrid, not some "backyard" pieced together clunker, and you can ride with confidence and be proud to own something that stands out in the crowd. Even the CRF graphics draw attention to the fact that this is not your normal run-of-the-mill Honda! The bike features the following extras: Warp 9 wheelsets Sunline oversize handlebars FMF Gnarly pipe FMF Powercore silencer V Force reed block Boyesen ignition and clutch covers Keihin PWK short body (yz250 version) carburetor Steahly 10oz flywheel weight Works Connection glide plate Fastway oversize footpegs Fastway rear axle blocks Pro Moto Billet rear brake rotor guard As stated the suspension is CRF250X and has been resprung for a 195# rider but not revalved. All high wear items have been replaced and are currently new and unused. this includes the Michelin S12 tires, tubes, o ring chain/ front & rear sprockets, and front & rear brake pads( OEM Honda). All plastic is unbroken and glossy with minimal scratches, gas tank and shock guard appearance are somewhat lower quality mainly due to the black color showing scratches. Graphics are intact and nice in appearance. SDG tall foam and cover are in new condition, foam is broken in, not soft, but not typical rock hard as new SDG's tend to be. Cover and foam were installed onto OEM 250X seat base in order to properly mount onto the 250X subframe. All controls are in tight working order, no loose levers, pegs, petals, no flopping kickstart lever, etc. Overall appearance of this bike is excellent, nearly showroom considering the 30 hours of use. The items that do show the most wear are the wheels( typical scratches that black rims show from tire changes and trail chips), the silencer, and the shock spring. These items were in good used condition at time of assembly, whereas other components (excluding the engine) were new at that time. The engine starts on first kick, runs and shifts as it should, however, being from an 01 the hours are unknown. I have included a new Wiseco piston kit and a Honda base gasket so that you can be assured that the engine top end is fresh and the installation is done to your satisfaction. Bike stand pictured is NOT included! Piston kit, base gasket, tool for mounting flywheel weight and additional parts for Fastway footpegs shown in picture will be included. Mileage of 500 listed above is only an estimate of distance traveled during the approx. 30 hours of operation. For sale to U.S. buyers only, I will not crate but will accommodate local pickup or meeting with shipping company if arrangements are may prior to purchase. This unit has a clean Ohio title. Deposit of $500.00 via PayPal at time of Buy-It-Now, balance in cash at time of pickup. Buy with confidence that you will have a unique and enjoyable machine at an affordable price! One of the well known conversion companies was selling new bikes with this frame/engine combo in 2010 for $10,000+, you can have this one for less than half that!
