Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A "SURVIVOR" MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE THAT WAS STORED IN A SOUTH FLORIDA GARAGE FOR APPROX. 20 YEARS, LAST TITLED IN 1990 UNTIL PURCHASED BY CURRENT OWNER. WE ARE LISTING THE CAR FOR AN ASSOCIATE WHO PURCHASED THE CAR AND HAVE POSSESSION OF THE CAR. THE ORIGINAL INTENTION WAS TO RESTORE IT BUT HIS ECONOMICAL SITUATION AND AGE MAKES THIS OPTION IMPOSSIBLE AT THIS TIME. WE DROVE THE CAR AND IT SOUNDS GREAT, RUNS GOOD, SHIFTS PROPERLY AND HANDLES NICELY FOR ITS AGE. IF NOT RESTORED OR PARTIALLY RESTORED FOR LITTLE INVESTMENT IT COULD BE DRIVEN AS A NICE DAILY DRIVER. THIS IS BREAKDOWN OF THE CAR: 1. Runs, shifts, steers easy and drives down the road good. 2. All glass is there, no damage, windows all work fine. 3. Has "PONY"interior but obviously shows its 46 years of life. Driver seat upholstery is torn. 4. Seat frames are all in good condition and can easily be re-done if desired, 5. Dash board has all existing components including original radio (hard to find) and does have a minor upholstery blemish in center above radio. 6. Has the original "spinner" hub caps on all four wheels. 7. Has original brakes, no power steering but does steer easy and stops fine. 8. Convertible top frame is in excellent condition, power motor works, top goes up and down with power motor. 9. The convertible top and pads will need replacement. The front window structure is strong and solid. Top in picture looks loose only because we did not lock it down in the front. It does close and fit tight when fully secured.10. Trunk area is in good condition. No visible rust.11. Front and rear chrome bumpers are in good condition, no missing chrome plating but not new show quality.12. Grille and grille emblems are in good condition.13. Brakes are old style original drum brakes so it does stop but not like todays power brake systems.14. Has had some floor board repairs done in the past but overall floors they appear solid when sitting or standing on them in the car. 15. Paint is acceptable and presentable, not show quality and does have fade spots and scratches in some areas. Photos usually hide some imperfections and tend to make paint look shiner than it actually is.16. As indicated before car is a "survivor driver" that can be driven for daily use so do not expect a done show car. It will have to be restored for show quality or trailer queen specs if this is your plan.17. Due to age and lack of records we cannot verify and insure mileage is correct although it probably could be. It is a nice rare Mustang that parts are easily accessible for and economical so it can be restored for a reasonable price probably (not guaranteed) to be below future market values. Mustang will not be shipped until all payments are completed with our banking institutions through the buyers original lending institution with the exception of an on-site cash transaction. This especially includes international transactions where the car will not be sent to any port for container loading until the funds are completely transferred to our account. Upon winning the final bid we will send you a copy of the title with all your pertinent data recorded on it so you do will have a completed, verified record that you did purchase the car. Any fees, where applicable, such as taxes, loading, transporting, shipping, insurance, container loading, tariffs, international fees, etc are the full responsibility of the buyer and must be paid and cleared prior to the car being released. We do have connections for shipping and will be happy to assist in that procedure with the understanding that any expenses are the responsibility of the buyer,. You are buying this Mustang as-is so please make sure you do your homework before bidding and understand that this is a driveable, presentable Mustang but not a show car. Mustangs are rather inexpensive to purchase parts for so restoring this car would rather easy and fairly inexpensive. Any part(s) needed for complete restoration can be purchased from reputable Mustang parts sites by simply searching for them on the internet. A few parts supply houses are: MUSTANGSUNLIMITED.COM, CJPONYPARTS.COM, THEMUSTANGSHOP.COM, MUSTANGPARTSHOUSE.COM just to name a few. We reserve the right to stop or cancel a bid or the auction at anytime. On Mar-09-12 at 14:41:23 PST, seller added the following information: We were unable to put the car on the lift but were able to jack it up and look at the under carriage and did take some pictures which we included as the last picture in the picture section. This will give you an idea of the current under carriage of the car. There has been work done to the bottom, it is complete, strong, but could have been made to look more presentable . If you use it as a daily driver for local car shows or do a frame-on restoration it is fine but to make it a top quality show car or "trailer Queen" the floor boards and supports would need to be changed. We do not want any issues with this vehicle and are insistent you understand you are buying it as-is, no complaints and that it is a good running, driving car but will require restoration. We have tried to describe it as thoroughly as possible.
