Vehicle Detail

This is a really fun car. We've called it the "Blue Bomber" for years. It is in the family garage in Sidney, B.C. in Canada. This is on Vancouver Island, only a few kilometers from the Schwartz Bay ferry terminal. It cannot be driven away, it must be towed. Our father's health prevents him from driving on any more antique car club tours, or doing any more mechanical work. So, this is your opportunity to own a classic and really fun automobile for a low price. The reserve price is only $500, so this is an easy purchase for an antique car enthusiast. Note: The odometer reading was recorded, but I lost the piece of paper. In my photos, the numbers are not visible. I think it was 60- 80,000 miles. However, who knows how many owners this car has had since 1940. We've owned it for only a few years. The condition of the car is ok cosmetically. Everything would probably have to be redone for a really first class restoration. My dad did put in an interior kit a few years ago. Mechanically, has been extremely reliable. My Dad had a rebuilt engine installed a few years ago, only a few thousand miles driven since then. However, if you buy this car, do not plan to drive it away. It's been sitting for several months, so I think it would be difficult to start, though the battery is charged. My dad's opinion of this car was that it was really reliable though. The terms for the auction are: 1) The winner must pay a $500 Canadian deposit via PayPal when the auction ends.2) Inspection is only available on Friday March 16, 2012. We are travelling overnight from the USA to meet you and plan to conduct the final title transfer and receive payment in our lawyer's office in downtown Sidney, B.C.3) Final payment must be made in Canadian dollars in cash at our lawyer's office.4) Tow away after title transfer and payment must be on the same day, Friday March 16, 2012. You cannot drive this car away. 5) Complete refunds will be made if: a. You change your mind before Wednesday March 14, 2012 (that's when we can still re-arrange our schedules) b. You physically come to Sidney, B.C. make an inspection and decide it's not the right car for you. If you need another date, earlier is not an option for us, but a later date might work. Just call me, Marc 1-360-302-0611 with questions or other ideas. We are not interested in offers, only assisting the auction winner. On 04-Mar-12 at 20:46:52 EST, seller added the following information: Addendum: I made a mistake listing the engine as a 6 cylinder. It is an in line 8, as the pictures clearly show. My apologies! On 09-Mar-12 at 11:42:22 EST, seller added the following information: Remember if you live in the USA, you need a passport to visit Canada. When you are returning to the USA with the car in tow, you have to clear USA customs, NOT Canada customs. You are importing an antique car (originally made in Detroit, Michigan, USA according to the metal plate on the car). You will have two pieces of paper delivered to you by our Canadian lawyer after you've paid for the car. One is the bill of sale, the other is the Canadian registration, proving that we, the sellers, have clear title to sell to you. Our lawyer cannot provide any USA customs forms etc. Call US Customs for more information on whether you will need a "certificate of origin" or any other paperwork prepared. Our Canadian lawyer cannot prepare it, but there are customs brokers who could help you(remember, you want USA customs brokers, you are importing the car into the USA). Feel free to call with questions. My name is Marc, phone is 360-302-0611.
