Vehicle Detail
I am selling my RX-8. I have recently changed jobs and the extra cash would make things simpler. Mechanically it runs great. It got a new clutch when I got it. It was an Exceedy clutch purchased through World Pac. The only other performance option installed was Mazdatrix Spark pug wires in blue. A lot of things were replaced before and after I got it by Mazda under warranty. The clutch pedal, the cataytic converter, all of the ignition coils, Spark plugs, oxygen sensors, even the motor mounts. If the clutch problem happened now it would have been covered due to the clutch pedal failure. It was also flooded a few times by the previous owner. If the rotaries are started and not warmed up they will flood. As a mater of fact the dealer just did this to mine. They corrected the issue including new spark plugs (it is a shame they only had 3500 miles on them). It was there for warranty inspections and an oil change. It passed a compression test after the problem was corrected. The car started life in New York, there is only surface rust on the exhaust but it got a few nicks and dings during its stay there. They are barely noticeable in all but the perfect light. No one else ever sees them but me. The "exhaust finishers" that are the lower left and right of the rear bumper are cracked. From Mazda it is less than $300 for the pair. Most people don't get that close to the back especially in the twisties. The climate control temperature knob is doing strange things it blows hot when it is set to cold and cold when set to hot. The dealer said it needs a new control head but it works so I did not ask how much it was.The car comes with both sets of original equipment floor mats. I am also including both of the original sales brochures from 2004. I also have the DVD & information on the warranty extension on the engine. It specifically says no synthetic in the engine. The owners manual says the same thing. It concerns me that people think they are helping them by using synthetics. I have only used Exxon / Mobil oil in 5W20 and have been using BG MOA in the oil it is not supposed to cause the gumming of the apex seals that synthetics cause but it still prevents sludging problems. The tires are Kumho LX Platinum which are very quiet and long wearing compared to many W rated tires I have tried. I have no traction issues either. The brake Pads are Raybestos gold box ceramics. The coolant was flushed at 30k, 45k, and 60k. The transmission and rear differential fluid were changed at 40k. I went to BG synthetics in both. The cabin air filter was replaced less than 300 miles ago. The engine air filter was replaced at 60,000 miles. The battery is an Acdelco 6 year battery and was replaced about a year ago.If you have not figured this out I love this car. It has all of the best options and more. It is the more powerful 6 speed Manual (40 more hp). It has the Grand Touring Package with the Bose 300-watt 9 speaker audio system with Audiopilot automatic noise compensation technology and a 6 disc in dash changer. The Grand Touring package also includes the auto dimming mirror, Leather trimmed seats, 8 way power driver's seat, and heated mirrors. It has the Sport Package which includes Self-leveling HID headlights, fog lights, and dynamic stability control with traction control. It has factory navigation. It has the factory appearance package which includes body colored front air dam, as well as the side and rear aero flares. It has the rotary accent package which includes front and rear polished magic triangles. Factory rear wing spoiler was also included. It even still has the rear cargo net. This car has always had premium fuel and has had BG 44K run in the gas to keep carbon away every month and a half. You will be buying a car from the best possible seller. The one who never planned on selling and still does not want to.On Feb-28-12 at 02:15:45 PST, seller added the following information: The extended warranty runs out in December or at 100,000 miles. I also wanted to mention there is one visible dent on the lip of the back bumper at the right wheel well. It is visible in the picture. There is also a visible rock chip on the right front top rear of the fender about a 1/4 inch in size also visible in the picture. When I copied and pasted the description I missed a paragraph. Reserve is much less than buy it now. I would be happy to let anyone interested see the car in person.
