Vehicle Detail

I’m listing this for a friend, that for health reasons, is not able to finish the project. Brought everything back to my shop for assembly. I don’t really have the room or the time to finish it for him. LOWERED the RESERVE. As a bonus to prospective buyers, i'm including a valid, open Nevada title for a 1925 Franklin from Harrah's Auto Museum to use as you wish. It needs to go. I built the chassis for him last year from a set of 2”x3” Alston Brothers mandrel bent rails that had never been used. Here’s the run down. Suspension / Axles Front suspension is new from Speedway. 4” drop tube axle with hairpins. 40 ford spindels. Gm disc brakes. All front end and brake parts are new with the exception of the 70’ Caprice calipers and pads. I believe all the parts to finish the brakes are there except the front flex Hoses. New master cylinders and pedal assemblies. New front shocks and rods. Rear is a 8” Ford differential with new cylinders, shoes and drums. Coilover shocks are used Gabriel racing. Short hairpins. Will need a driveline. Steering Steering box and column is 50’s manual Saginaw. Needs pitman arm. Older Chevy wheel. Wheels / Tires Fronts are 53’ / 54’ Chevy steel 5x15”. Rears are 8x15” new from Summit. Chrome outers, raw centers. Tires are a matched set of big and little Radial TA’s like new. Front: P215/70. Rear: P285/70 Body / Radiator and Shell Body was salvaged from an old track roadster. It’s the front half of a 23’ Ford Touring. Some rust thru patina on the bottom sides. Rad. Shell is a cut down 32’ Ford commercial with winged mascot. Radiator is new custom built all Brass. Expensive. New Bomber seats are included. These were the first to be repopped from Hot Rod Surplus. Started the craze. Yellow Oxide primer with Military Drab Green. Engine / Tranny Engine is a GM 2.3L DOHC “Quad Four” LD2 Pulled from a 1989 Pontiac Grand AM with just under 70,000 mi. Freshened up with new bearings, seals, gaskets and timing set. Polished the crank and balanced the flywheel and clutch plate along with the internals. It was put back together and some custom stuff added to give a nostalgic look back to the old Offenhauser racing engines of the 1930’s. A unique custom touch are the duel coils, distributors and two sets of plug wires. One set works, the other is a fooler. Quads for Rods supplied the new finned Aluminum front cover and bell housing adapter for the Borg Warner T-5 Transmission. Three Stromberg 94’s were sent to Charlie Price in Florida for total rebuild including the progressive linkage and Stainless hard fuel line. A custom billet Aluminum intake was designed, machined and engraved by a Master Machinist and car guy here in Carson City. He also machined a pulley for the new Powermaster Mini Alternator to match the crank. A second set of spark plug sockets were also machined in the original injector locations. Made a temporary set of short exhaust tubes to run on the stand. Fired it a few times on the test stand and it runs and sounds great. Tranny is a Borg Warner T-5 from a V8 Camaro. No problems here. Hydraulic clutch pressure plate and all new connections are included. Will need a clutch disc. Common, Napa will have it. Car will need to be wired. Gas Tank Old original “Thrush” 12 Gal. Farm implement oiler tank. A Model A filler neck is included. New electric fuel pump and regulator included. This car is to be considered a project even though there’s not much left to be finished. Sold with Bill of Sale only. No title. This will make a nice Rat Rod. I’ve probably missed something. Ask questions.
