Vehicle Detail
Super rare 1958 Continental (Lincoln) Mark III 4 Door Hardtop with only 88,000 original miles! This is one of only a handful of these cars that still exist in any form, let alone this rare find of a basically unmolested original survivor. This car still has mostly original paint (some side panels were resprayed many years ago) and no dents/evidence of any prior body damage, except for a small dent in the hood right above the grill (as shown in the pictures). The car is 100% complete with all of its original trim inside and out (the hood ornament broke but is in the trunk). The body panels are virtually rust-free except for some rust through around the headlight "pods" and a little surface rust on the corners of the rear fender skirts. There is some rust also on the bottom of the car, including the rockers, although nothing seems to have gone through anywhere except ffor on one rocker bottom. The interior is the original black leather in nice condition for its age but does have some wear cracks on the seat bottoms, and a couple places opening up on the driver seat (see photos). The door panels, dash, and headliner are all excellent. All original trunk liner and decals also excellent. Some worn through places on the original carpet in the front on the edges. Chrome is decent original, driver quality with no rusted through areas. Mechanically, the car is in running/driving condition with a new starter, rebuilt brake booster/master, new rear end bushings kit, new brake lines, new fuel lines, new correct dual exhaust system, and new replacement gas tank (not yet installed but will go with car - car currently runs off temporary tank in the trunk). The tires are older and the car is never driven very far (used as a collector vehicle on only short trips) so I would not advise trying to drive any long distance (given that the car is over 50 years old, you are alwaysbetter off towing to your location if out of town). I will not disclose the reserve during the auction. The car is sold as is where is with no warranties express or implied so please ask any and all questions BEFORE bidding. I will be happy to work with foreign buyers but the buyer is responsible for all shipping/transportation charges/arrangements. Thanks On Mar-04-12 at 17:38:22 PST, seller added the following information: To answer several questions, the car came from the factory without AC. The power windows work, except the rears are slow and the back window is making a clicking noise but will not go down. Lights all working inside (including all interior courtesy lights) and out. Power front bench seat works. Original radio is working. Power locks worked last time I flipped the switch, as well.
