Vehicle Detail
cowboy_romeo Store For sale is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible which appears to have come from the factory coded for RARE solid red paint, manual 3-speed transmission (three on the tree) and a 292 cubic inch V8 engine. When was the last time you SAW a '57 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible? My father has restored numerous cars over the years, but is now approaching 70 years old and does not have the ability to finish this final amazing project. As a result, he has asked me to list this car for him so that someone with more desire and energy might finish this beautiful car. The good news is that experience has helped him distinguish a car with great potential from one that is complete junk and a waste of time. This car is DEFINITELY not junk! Here are a few of the car's hilights: * Engine/heads were rebuilt, but wouldn't hurt to freshen them up * Engine and transmission are currently out of the car * There are no holes in the body as can be seen in the photos * Most sheet metal work has already been done * All body panels are solid and straight and currently in primer * Sheet metal in floors and trunk were replaced as needed * Trunk floor has been finished and painted in black * Car has ALL original side trim and moldings * Convertible top bars/latches/windshield stainless, etc. are on the car * Rear deck area where boot snaps fasten appears to be new * Car has a clean title The following new Ford parts will go with the car: * Complete correct red & white interior set which includes seats with door panels already assembled, polished interior trim as well as new front & rear carpets (red) * Rubber moldings and staples for fender skirts as well as the fender skirts themselves * Four shocks * Two motor mounts * Rear-mounted chrome antenna with long cable and mounting gasket * Chrome trunk emblem 'Fairlane 500 V' * Water pump and gasket * Battery tray, hold down bracket, J-hooks, bolts, etc. * Two red taillight lenses with chrome (plastic) crowns * Two parking light lenses - white with gaskets * Rubber brake and clutch pedal pads * Spark plug set * Rear body to bumper stone deflector * License plate holder '1957 Ford' * Valve cover gasket set * Two tail light housing to body pads/gaskets * Lock assembly with key for glove box * Two head lights Parts that have been cleaned, primed and/or painted: * Five very nice original hub caps * Exhaust manifolds blasted & painted with hi-temp cast gray paint * Heat riser painted with hi-temp cast gray paint * Steering wheel refinished and painted * Hood emblem polished - has good plastic insert included * Jack stand, base, tower, hook, etc. repainted * All interior door and quarter window trim primed * Clock and radio face cleaned - not sure if radio works * Speedometer cluster cleaned and painted * Clutch fork, rod assembly and rubber boot cleaned/painted * License plate mounting bracket cleaned/painted * Two front seat lower wrap-around metal pieces primed * Fan blade, pulley and spacer painted * All miscellaneous dash trim cleaned, polished and/or painted * Two door armrest pads painted (with rubber padding) * Sunvisor bracket & arm painted (one only) * Horns painted The following items have been rechromed and are ready to install: * Rear bumper * Horn ring * Two curved boot cover trim pieces (where boot snaps down) * Clock face * Radio face * Rear seat speaker grill with crest There is a LOT more information about this awesome car which I have not included in this listing. Ebay limits me to 8 photos, but there are plenty more available. You can contact my father directly at the following numbers and he will be happy to answer any questions you may have (his name is Joe): 630 971 2199 (home) 630 379 9061 (celll) Please don't call after 10PM or earlier than 8AM Central Time. He is asking $10,500 or best reasonable offer which is extremely fair for a car this complete and ready to paint and assemble.
