Vehicle Detail

This is a very clean 1974 MGB Roadster that has 26,094 original miles and is the last of the "Chrome Bumper" cars with the original "Sabrinas" bumper over riders and other unique features lost in later models. It looks and drives great and has been in storage since 2001. It has had good care and was not used much over the years but since it has come out of storage all the fluids have been changed, the fuel pump replaced and other than that it could use a new carpet kit and seat kit (Both carpet and seat kits "new in the box" are included at the buy it now price) to be really nice. The car has been in rust free California all of its life and has the original "Blue" license plates. The body is very solid and straight with only a few very minor dings and the paint still shines great but has a few nicks here and there. The brakes work fine and the original muffler is still on the car. The original top is in good working condition and does not look too bad but the rear side window is a little discolored in spots. The motor runs great and the transmission/clutch work super as well. It has the WEBER carburator conversion and shows about 60 psi of oil pressure at idle and has good even compression. All the tires have deep tread but the rear tires have some sidewall cracking from age. The dash has the typical crack in the middle and all the glass is in good condition. It has a clear and CLEAN CALIFORNIA TITLE with no issues. I will sell it for $400 less if you have your own carpet and seat kits. This is a very nice looking and driving car, all the gauges work fine and the suspension is very tight. It does have some DMV fees due only if you register it again in California. If you have any questions please email me or send your phone number and I will give you a call back quickly. Good luck bidding! Here is some infomation from Wikipedia on the "1974 MGB": Further changes in 1972 brought about the Mark III. The main changes were to the interior with a new fascia and improved heater. Early in the 1974 model year, to meet impact regulations, US models saw the chrome bumper over-riders replaced with large rubber ones, nicknamed "Sabrinas" after the well-endowed British actress. In the second half of 1974 the chrome bumpers were replaced altogether. A new, steel-reinforced black rubber bumper at the front incorporated the grille area as well, giving a major restyling to the B's nose, and a matching rear bumper completed the change. New US headlight height regulations also meant that the headlamps were now too low. Rather than redesign the front of the car, British Leyland raised the car's suspension by 1-inch (25 mm). This, in combination with the new, far heavier bumpers resulted in significantly poorer handling. For the 1975 model year only, the front anti-roll bar was deleted from the standard car as a cost-saving measure (though it was still available as an option). The damage done by the British Leyland response to US legislation was partially alleviated by further revisions to the suspension geometry in 1977, when a rear anti-roll bar was made standard equipment on all models. On Feb-23-12 at 07:51:55 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked by several interested bidders if the car can be picked up in a week or two after the winning bid. It is not a problem for the car to be stored for up to 4 weeks after the sale in order to arrange transportation or shipping and we can also deliver it to any San Francisco, Oakland or Richmond, California port or Brokers location for no additional fee. If you need longer than that time please email me your requested time and I will see what I can arrange. Thanks! On Feb-25-12 at 08:13:15 PST, seller added the following information: The California DMV fees will be $562 as of May 2012. This is only if the vehicle will be reregistered again in California. If it is going out of state or overseas there is no Calif DMV fees to pay, you will recieve a clear title and you will pay only the fees due at your location. On Feb-25-12 at 08:27:17 PST, seller added the following information: Another question has come up about the trunk area and if it has had some speakers cut into the rear wall or not. There is NO modification in that area at all, it is original and unaltered.
