Vehicle Detail

Hi there everyone. I am selling my cherished MGB roadster. This is a 1977 model year MGB convertible, that has been converted to chrome bumpers, and a beautiful early metal dashboard. Honestly, when I built this car, I wanted all the charms of an early MGB, with the reliablity of a later model. As you can see from the photos, the bodywork and paint are absolutely stunning. While not concourse perfect, this car was stripped to bare metal, etch-primed, sanded, painted, etc. The sills were replaced (inner, outer, lower, jacking points, etc. ) This vehicle is SOLID, NO RUST. I put too much work into this car to describe in this listing, but I will try my best.... POWERTRAIN: Rebuilt 18 GB High Compression, 5-main engine( new pistons and rings .020 over, new bearings, oil pump, timing chain and tensioner, gaskets, seals, etc. RUNS GREAT. BRAKES: New brake lines, hoses, shoes, pads, springs, rebuilt master cylinder. CLUTCH: New clutch disc, pressure plate, bearing, etc. Transmission is good. INTERIOR: Restuffed older-style vinyl seat covers, good carpet, good panels. METAL DASH CONVERSION. Note that I did not install the steering column surround. The bumpers do show some signs of wear (pitting, scuffs, etc, especially the back bumper,) and the grille has some wear. Basically, what you are getting is a nice , clean, solid MGB with awesome bodywork and paint, a good powertrain, good brakes. EVERYTHING WORKS. IT runs, drives, stops, etc. The tires are dry-rotted on the sides, but hold air, but I would definately change them. The underside of the car is clean as well, and all the wiring in the vehicle was cleaned, inspected, and rewrapped. All of the lights work. The fuel lines and hoses are good. The carburettors are in good, functioning condition, and the car runs great! I spent many a long day and night putting this beauty together, and I'm only selling her to make room in the garage for another project. I have tried to be as honest as possible in my description of this sweet little MGB. By the way, the car is not white, but more of an Olde English White color. The pictures do it no justice. If you're looking for a clean, running, driving , straight MGB , this is it. Please bear in ming that this is a used, 35 year old car, with no warranties of any kind expressed or implied. Buyer must provide a $500 deposit into my paypal account within 3 days of auction's end. The remainder of the balance is to be paid in cash, wire transfer, etc. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements, though I will be glad to help or answer any questions. NO overseas shipping. If you have any questions about the car, I will be glad to help. Thank You and good luck bidding. On Feb-21-12 at 08:08:18 PST, seller added the following information: Hello there everyone. There are some more details about this car that I would like to add. More of the work done includes: Removed side marker lights, undercoated /painted Entire underside of car. NO RUST, excellent corrosion protection. Also, new bushings/ spring pads in the rear, and all new red poly bushings up front. Also, new steering rack boots, new door and glove box locks, new fuel sending unit, new rubber seat diaphrams ( a real pain to install, but SO much better than the webbing.) New air filter elements in refinished original cannisters w/new decals. You get the idea, this is a great little MGB. Also, I have been getting a lot of requests to reveal my reserve, price comparisons, etc. Out of respect to all the bidders and individuals selling there MG's on this site, I am going to let the auction run without revealing my reserve. I hope you all understand. Thank YouOn Feb-22-12 at 08:35:14 PST, seller added the following information: Hello everyone. I have been receiving a lot of questions asking if the vehicle has a top. Yes it does, its in decent condition, with some normal wear and a couple small tears., and the plastic windows are slightly discolored and have some small scuffs as well, but you can still see through them. So, the top is in decent condtion and is still functional. I tried to add some photos of this, but cannot does it because I already uploaded 24 photos onto my description. Thank You
