Vehicle Detail

Many, if not most, used Rolls-Royce cars suffer from a long history of deferred or neglected maintenance. As is said often on the Rolls-Royce Owners Club forum, "the most expensive car you can buy is a cheap Rolls-Royce." This is not one of those; no expense has been spared to bring this car to mechanical perfection under my ownership. This car runs beautifully, starts right up every time, and shifts smoothly through the gears. It has had a tremendous amount of service since I acquired it in June 2009. I have the complete service history from new on this car, except for a gap from May 1994 to August 1999. Everything on the car works, except the light under the hood, something I never felt worthwhile having fixed. The following upgrades have been done under my ownership: Supplementary door seals (to reduce wind noise – factory upgrade kit) Anti-theft alarm system (factory upgrade kit) – no remote fobs and the system was inoperable when I Purchased the car All new sound system, Kenwood head unit with AM/FM/DVD/NAV/Bluetooth including hands-free phone, Vertex amplifier and speakers Auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink The following major repairs have also been done: Rebuilt instrument panel ECU Rebuilt cruise control ECU and actuator New driver’s airbag Both hydraulic pumps replaced (new, not rebuilt) All hydraulic suspension spheres replaced Forward half of top roll recovered in new leather Passenger side rear view motor and mirror (not the outer shell) replaced (motor had failed) A great deal of other work has been done as well. Full details are available. The total cost of all work done under my ownership exceeds $36,000 (and no, that does not include the purchase price). The car was originally purchased by Rusnak Rolls-Royce in Pasadena, CA, as an executive car/demonstrator, but was sold with only a little over 3,000 miles on it to its first private owner. I believe I am the fourth owner. The car has remained in California its whole life. The car has all the original tools and books (including the window sticker – original MSRP $166,300, and the manual for the original standard equipment analog car phone, which has been removed). I also have the factory build sheets. The original radio head unit and CD player (which had been repaired several times, once under my ownership, and once again doesn’t work) have been kept, and go with the car. The upgraded sound equipment presents as original (no alteration to the console or speaker grilles was made); the navigation/DVD/touchscreen pops out of the head unit when needed, otherwise remaining hidden. The car has its original paint and everflex roof, which are in fine condition. The paint is very shiny and has only a few, very minor flaws. There are no dents on the car, and only one small blemish on the rubber insert on the rear bumper. The interior leather, wood, and headliner are flawless. The car has lambswool carpet covers, which have Rolls-Royce labels on them but were not with the car when it left the factory, having been purchased some time later; they are in very good condition. The standard wool carpets are in fine condition, except that the leather heel pad on the driver’s carpet has come loose, something I never worried about since I always left the lambswool carpet covers in place. The wheels are missing the beauty rings (the spare does have its). These are still available from Crewe, but will cost upwards of $800, which I never felt was a worthy investment, and in my opinion add nothing to the look of the wheels. I had thought this would be my car for now and the future, but I fell in love with another car and bought it, and do not have a large enough garage to keep both, so my time and investment is your gain.
