Vehicle Detail
Offered in this auction is a 1999 Ford F150 XL long bed (8ft.) pickup truck. It has a 4.2 litre V6 with automatic. Included options are AM/FM stereo cassette player, working air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, vinyl floor coverings in clean good condition, cloth and vinyl seat covers also clean (one small hole in seat cover near driver's side hinge). All the glass is perfect with no chips or cracks, windows, doors, door handles and locks work like new. Front tires are brand new, rear tires have about half tread left on them. In the last year this truck has gotten a new master cylindar, new rotors, pads, shoes, and brake lines; a new alternator, starter, shocks, muffler, wires, plugs, fuel filter and tune up. The AC has just been repaired and recharged and works fine. NJ state inspection is good through February 2012. No check engine lights or known problems except as listed below. The paint and body on the truck are also in very good condition; look at the photos and you will see that it does have some scrapes, dings, and scratches all around but overall the paint condition is excellent. It has had some damage and minor body work done on passenger rear quarter panel. Interior is excellent and never smoked in. Bed had a bedliner which is gone now so it has been pretty well protected but does have a few minor holes. I have many of the service and repair records as well as the original dealer's window price sticker that lists all of the actual options installed on the truck that I personally removed from the truck after it was delivered from Malouf Ford in 1999. History: I was given this truck in 1999 brand new by my employer in a plumbing company. It was my personal transportation vehicle and I carried my tools back and forth to work. I drove it for my job from 1999 until I retired in December of 2011. At that time I bought the truck from my employer, cleaned it up, did some repairs on it and intended to keep it as my personal vehicle. In actuality, even though Car Fax will show two owners, I have had this truck since it was brand new in 1999. It was always well cared for and served me well. I registered and drove the truck at the end of December for about one month and it ran and drove fine. It developed a "miss" in the engine and I brought it in to be repaired. That is when the new wires and plugs and tune up was done. It ran fine for a few days and then all of a sudden it just died. After towing it back I was informed that the ECM (computer) was bad and needed it replaced. I had a new computer installed, the ignition keys re-programmed, and still the truck does not run. The error codes the locksmith furnished are as follows: [SCP NOT CONFIGURED] and [ NO COM ECC PATS] The mechanic says it will be additional cost to diagnose and repair and I do not want to spend any more money on this truck as I have since bought a much newer 2006 F150 and transferred the plates and registration to it. I am told that this problem may be as simple as "clearing the old codes" from the new computer which is in the truck but I don't know enough about it and am ready to walk away now. If you have experience in this field you can get a wonderful and excellent running vehicle at a reduced price. The new computer does have a one year warrantee on it from Ford Auto Computers. The original computer that was factory furnished with the vehicle (which I suspect may have nothing wrong with it) is also included as it may be a help. At the very least, the engine is perfect, trans is perfect, body, glass, interior, and just about all of the rest of the truck would be a great buy. Kelly blue book value $3,500.00 - $4,500.00 in good running condition. It really hurts me to walk away from this truck as it has always served me well, but I am now 62 years old and too old to start all over again so I bought the newer truck. Look at all the pictures and see how nicely I kept this truck. I will be happy to try and answer any questions about it and welcome you to come and take a look at it in Scotch Plains, NJ. As I said before, it does not currently run and is sold for parts or repair. It is not currently registered or insured. I would expect and hope that the bidding does go up around $3,000.00 but am starting the bidding at $1.00 with no reserve. A look at my Ebay experience and feedback will show almost 1000 transactions with 100% feedback; included in them are at least 20 vehicle purchases and sales so I do know how this works and have never failed to satisfy a customer. Payment by cash, bank check, or Paypal expected in full within one week of auction close (no personal checks accepted) and vehicle removed shortly thereafter unless other mutual arrangments are made AT CLOSE OF AUCTION. New Ebay bidders with less than 10 transactions must contact me prior to bidding. I have very carefully and accurately described the condition of this vehicle to the best of my ability. No returns, reductions, adjustments, "backsies" "do overs" "threats to tell my mother!" "sending your big brother to SEE me!" or considerations of any kind will be made AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES! ...DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THESE TERMS!!! I know this will eliminate some bidders but that's how I keep my customers satisfied and my 100% feedback rating! Vehicle is as is where is. I hope I haven't scared off too many bidders as this is really a great truck! Good luck and send me any questions. [
