Up for sale is a 1997 mercury cougar. the car received a new paint job in october in the original color. it has a pioneer cd/mp3/xm sirius radio, and remote control it has new infinity reference 6x8 speakers all around. it has a new remote start security system. new headlights when when the car was painted. new HID headlights for better night visibility. new shocks and struts. new brake pads. when i had the brakes done in july, i found that it still had the original rotors and they were in excellent shape so i kept them. new calipers. new headliner, recovered sun visors, and the cloth door inserts as well as rear speaker grills were recovered with tan suede. new carpet as of 2/8/12 the car was very well kept mechanically, as it didnt have any miles on it for its age. however, it was obviously kept oudoors, and the sun did a number on it. this is why ive had to put some money into it, but it was simply cosmetic. the only thing this car needs to be 100% sound, i new tires. i will replace the tires before delivery to new owner. the car also received a tune up and oil change in november. there were a few misc sensors that needed replacing, but other than that the car is solid. the only cosmetic issue is the chrome lookin plastic trim insert that runs around the car. it has some spotting on it. i havent been able to locate this trim to replace it. on the inside, there are two ac vents in the dash that the sun has destroyed. i have temporarily put oem gray vents in while trying to find the tan ones the car now has tint has well. it has limo tint on the back 3 windows, and 15% tint on the front doors. the windshield has a sunstrip, and a light shade of tint on the whole windshield as well. car is very comfortable to drive with the full tint job. if the tint is too dark for the buyer, i will gladly re tint the car upon sale. the blue book value on the car is between 7k and 8k. obviously, the market determines the price, not the blue book. im lookin to get half of blue book essentially the reserve is within a few hundred of the starting bid. there are 6 cylinder 1996 cougars currently on ebay selling for over 4k.. i think my price is more than fair. i will not transport this car. i may consider taking it somewhere in florida or along the east coast, provided the buyer covers the fuel expense upon delivery, and they have paid a deposit of 50% before delivery otherwise, a 500 dollar deposit is due within 3 days of auction end i think ive covered everything. if you have any questions, feel free to email me, or you can call or text me at 561-718-4729.
