Hi, my name is Steve and I am selling my 1975 merc. 450 SL.convertible w/matching hardtop (that has stand, cover and rear window defrost), complete set of original owners manuals, tech & spec book, EPA window sticker, and engine warranty cards. I purchased the vehicle 4/16/03 w/102533 miles, and have 20+ years of maint. records on hand. Prior owner very fastidious, owned since 1995, in 1999-2000 (at 102k mi.), installed all new door panels, seat coverings (incl. new seat foam padding), dash, visors, carpet, convertible top and a new paint job. Interior is in yery good condition, virtually no wear, even the drivers seat has no cracks, rips or tears. I have since installed (2005) all new fuel injectors, cams, and rocker arms. Engine runs superb and smooth, and the top-end work should last many years. Theres NO knocking or smoking, car is powerful, shifts through all gears, tracks and brakes straight, and is a joy to drive! There is only less than 15k mi. on the car after this work, done by certified Mercedes-Benz specialists. I have taken the vehicle on long trips with no worries. It would be difficult to find a more attractive, mechanically sound and upgraded classic for this kind of money ANYWHERE. Not working: Power antennae in "up' position (old school Alpine radio works good), fact. A.C is complete, compressor wouldnt cut off, didnt blow cold, is unplugged & off. Paint flaws are: slight bubbling behind wheel, fuel door, below "450 SL" emblem on trunk (approx.1/4 in. dia.), hood & fender seam, conv. cover seam, small area of surface rust inside door jamb. (See photos) No attempts to hide or touch-up. Two small dings on edge of trunk deck, all flaws are minor and do not detract overall. This is a 35+ yr. old classic sportscar, as such, sale is strictly "AS-IS" with NO WARRANTIES expressed or implied, $500.00 deposit via Pay Pal due 48 hrs from sale, bal. due 7 days from end of bidding.
