Up for your consideration is a original, good solid 1978 Mercedes 280 CE in dark grey with tan leather. This car has not be started up in about 5 or 6 years but ran fine when parked. The engine is solid and oil leak free at 214K miles. The Transmission goes into drive but 2nd & 3rd gears do not engage, reverse works fine. It may need a rebuilt or transmission replacement. The tires are old but hold air, the spare is on the right front (original is in the trunk). Body is excellent, no dents but has some light paint rust on the hood. The rubber on the front windshield is shot the rest appears ok for it's age. The paint is dark grey but is faded, inside door jam paint is excellent and clean. All the chrome is EXCELLENT! The wheels are all factory and excellent, the interior is original and excellent for it's age. Headliner is excellent and this car has NEVER been smoked in! The original radio was removed years back so it's missing. The engine is clean but will need to be activated again to get her up and running, also I would drain the gas just to be safe from any junk flowing to the gas lines. Overall this is a good solid old car that needs some time to get her running again, I would hate to have her used as parts. Car will need to be towed.
