Vehicle Detail

1968 Buick Electra 225 We are here for you at MotoeXotica Classic Cars and will ensure your online buying experience will be a pleasurable one from start to finish. We are now in our 10th year selling on Ebay with over 1,300 positive feedbacks! MotoeXotica was one of the Pioneer Classic Car dealers on Ebay and have seen a lot of dealers come and go. We have a brick and mortar 30,000 sq. ft. building on 5 acres in St. Louis, MO to serve you; we like to sell our cars the same way as we would like to purchase them, fairly and honestly. We ask for a nominal $500.00 credit card deposit and give you a 7 day grace period to inspect the car. If you find the car not to your liking we will refund your deposit with no questions asked should you get here and not like the vehicle. We all know that the financial times right now are tough. With the stock market being so volatile and investments becoming less valuable, many people are turning to the classic car market to invest their money. Putting your money into a hard asset that you can enjoy everyday is becoming a very popular option, especially now when the marketplace is lower then it’s been in many years. We invite you to put your money into a vehicle that is fun to own and brings back memories of when you were younger. We offer financing through two of the best lenders in the industry. If you visit www.jjbest.com or www.woodsidecredit.com they are currently offering very attractive rates for all collector and special interest automobiles. With loan amounts from $10,000 to $500,000, and flexible terms of up to 12 years, you can get financed for as low as 6.99%. Please feel free to contact us at anytime during the duration of the auction with any questions you may have. Please see my "ME" Page for other exciting cars of distinction on EBAY. Start Slideshow Stop Slideshow Next Image Previous Image During the mid-Sixties, size was "in," and the 1965-1969 Buick Electra 225s looked the part with their right-angle rear quarter panels. Oddly, after completely abandoning tailfins in 1961, this mildly restyled Electra's back fenders protruded past the deck to give just a hint of the old finned look. the horizontal look now was de rigueur. Electra filled that bill handily, highlighted by a wide ribbed trim strip that extended all the way from the front wheels to the back bumper, crossing the rear fender skirts, to enhance the car's vastly long silhouette. The expected quad headlights stood side-by-side in a straight-up mesh grille. Four wide stylized VentiPorts arranged in a row told viewers this was indeed a Buick. "It's big, it's sleek, and it rides like a dream," Electra prospects were informed by the 1965 sales catalog. Better yet, it "has the look of solid success," just the thing to let people know "you've arrived." No idle boast, that. An Electra sedan stretched out at the curb really did look like it belonged to someone who'd achieved worldly success, and didn't hesitate to flaunt it. At least a little. Stretching 224 inches from stem to stern, an Electra proclaimed one's role in the material world with restrained elegance as opposed to gaudy baubles. Interiors, to no one's surprise, put plush comfort uppermost, fitted with a selection of fine fabrics and leather-grained vinyl’s.All GM passenger vehicles received a major restyling in 1965 dominated by flowing "Coke bottle" lines and fastback roof profiles on its coupe models, and the 6 window-body style was eliminated as GM moved to place more emphasis on the luxury provided by its four-door hardtop bodies. For 1965, Buick changed its marketing strategy and offering the Electra 225 in two trim levels, base and Custom. Along with the new body came a new chassis with a full perimeter frame including side rails that replaced the previous "X" frame used since 1961. Engine offerings were unchanged from 1964 including the standard 325-horsepower 401 V8. The three-speed Super Turbine 400 automatic transmission was standard equipment. This particular ’65 Buick Electra 225 Custom Convertible is a 81,000 original mile convertible that comes finished in burgundy with white top and its original Buckskin interior. The car is loaded with options from the factory that include power seat, windows, power steering, power brakes, power antenna, power top and A/C! The paint is in very good overall condition with no major imperfections, but is showing its age in a few places. Nothing major, just some very minor scratching in the lacquer paint. The power soft top was replaced at the same time The stainless trim and chrome around the car looks very good with only a few small scratches or dings showing. The car does have fender skirts that are a great addition.Inside, the original buckskin interior looks great. The seats have been recovered and are in great condition with no major wear showing. The carpet is equally as nice and shows no major staining. All gauges are in good working order as well as the lights, blinkers, horn and wipers. The A/C does blow but its currently not blowing cold. There has been an updated AM/FM stereo installed that works with no problems. Under the hood the big 430 Cu In V8 runs great and starts with ease. The engine is nicely detailed along with the engine bay which shows no damage. On the road the car rides very smooth and straight with no pulling to either side. In the trunk, you will find a full size spare and original jack. The trunk is nicely carpeted and solid throughout. The car currently shows 81,760 and is said to be original for the car. VIN number is 484678H298412. Terms & Condtions TO BID YOU MUST BE OVER 18 and pay with a money order, cashiers check or wire transfer.
