All options and functions on this car work.Including cold a/c and hot heat.Both heated seats work.CD stereo works,sunroof and all windows work.Sport and winter mode automatic transmission shifts perfectly.Cruise control ,daytime running lights,headlight washer system.Drives straight and true,cruises at 75mph with no vibration.Turbo 4 cylinder idles smooth as silk.No smoke or noises.Interior is good.Drivers seat bottom seam lost its stitching. New: Fuel pressure regulator,power steering pump,oil change and volvo oil filter,both ignition coils replaced,along with ignition wires and plugs.New ignition coil and VVT solenoid engine wiring harness.Timing belt was changed at 150K I was told.I was given no proof. Needs some repairs:It has 2 very common needed repairs.First,the variable valve timing cam hub seal,or VVT hub seal needs to be replaced.This very common S40/V40 issue will show at some time on all 2000 to 2004 volvo s40/v40s.The VVT works by oil pressure.If the seal leaks(this one is)the correct oil pressure at the hub can not be read and subsequently the VVT does not work.The car still runs and drives fine,but it shows code P0014(when check engine light comes on),and is a bit more sluggish.It does still work from time to time and the difference is obvious.Brand new hub and gear on line are $172,Second,the flex pipe just off the exhaust manifold is starting to get noisy.This entire pipe which also has the cat converter,is under $150 here on ebay,new,or just have the flex pipe replaced easily at any muffler shop.Both rocker panels are showing what is mostly surface rust.Passenger side has a fingernail sized rust through spot in this area.Car is still nice enough that these rust spots should be fixed,in my opinion.Strange that she has rust in this area , as the undercarriage could pass for a southern car with no rust at all.Not even surface rust on its fuel and brake lines running underneath.Will need rear brake pads soon.Has light scratches from normal wear and tear on the outside.Has a scuff and light dent on the passenger rear bumper cover and quarter.All the mentioned scratches would be removed by a detail compound.Car is still presentable as is but is not new by any stretch and is NOT the $5000 to $8000 dollar and up V40s that are on ebay.It will need the above mentioned work.I will sell her for whatever the auction brings.PLEASE do not bid if you can not or will not pay,Please ask your questions before bidding.Please do not bid unless you will send the $100 deposit at auction end as listed.She is sold in as is conditon with no warranty at all for any reason.That said ,I would drive this car any distance right now. We use this car every day,so the miles will increase slightly.
