Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice Super 90 with 5,613 original miles on it. They are getting very hard to find in this condition and should continue to increase in value (while getting unbelievable mileage, albeit not suitable for highways!). This bike has its original red paint in good condition with several chips and small scratches. The fender paint has been re-done and looks good. The chrome is all original and, in places marginal, especially the rear shock chrome. The rims are ok, except for one poor area on the front rim, which does not affect handling at all. The spokes have been cleaned and touched up. The tank chrome is original and pretty good, not perfect, but the original Honda emblems are in great shape. It has its original exhaust header and muffler with baffle, both in nice condition for an old bike. No holes, dents or rust out. I installed a new carb kit, battery, front foot peg rubbers, front fork rubber boots, new tires and tubes, seat cover, some electronic connections and a new timing chain and idler wheel. I purchased a new tool kit for it and it comes with the ORIGINAL S90 owner's manual. I tuned it up and it starts easily (when the temperature is above 50, otherwise it takes a few kicks) and runs quietly and smoothly. I drained the gas tank, put some oil in the cylinder and drained the carbs for winter storage, but will start it up to make sure all is well before shipping it out. Probably today as the sun is out. I have a clear Pennsylvania title and it has a valid Pennsylvania State Inspection Sticker good to 5/12. (Note: This model year does not have turn signals, so check with your state regarding this requirement for inspection. I register my motorcycles as Antiques so they do not have to be modified from their original build configuration.) This little Honda turns heads and gets attention...especially from the old guys (like me) who grew up when "you met the nicest people on a Honda", and with an original S90, you still will! Payment by certified funds only. The bike can be seen in Ephrata, PA and I would encourage any serious buyer to see it in advance. I will cooperate with your shipper, but please don't ask me to provide you shipping quotes. Get it before I change my mind!On Feb-01-12 at 05:55:24 PST, seller added the following information: I thought I would mention that my reserve price for this motorcycle is $1600, which is a bit less than I have spent on it. Obviously I would like to get more than that to cover the Ebay fees, but one of my BMW projects is running over budget! On Feb-02-12 at 07:50:18 PST, seller added the following information: I started the bike up and ran it around the block this morning. For some reason, unknown to me, the carb float needle stuck and I had to remove the carb, remove and replace the needle, check the float height and put it all back together again. But then it started right up and ran fine. Maybe a 3 or 4 months sitting in the garage caused the needle to valve needle to stick? Anyway, I can report now that it runs, all the gears work fine, all the lights and the horn work as well.
