Ebay         Addendum 2/7/2012I have received several inquiries concerning the condition of the paint and exterior of the car. Let’s be clear, if you are looking for a 100 point show car with perfect paint, then this is not the car for you. If you are looking for a car that is living the life of a trailer queen, as the owner is afraid to drive it in case it may get a stone chip, then this is not the car for you. Those types of cars were sold at Barrett-Jackson last month. Barrett-Jackson sold two Datsun 280Zs in that condition with higher miles than mine last month in Scottsdale for over $18,000 plus commission fees. However, if you are looking for an extremely low mileage original condition 280Z with a solid clean exterior, beautiful interior, and excellent powertrain that drives perfectly for THOUSANDS less then *this* is the car for you. A classic that you are able to drive and enjoy as it was intended, and look good doing it! My car has a few door dings and scratches from the original owner as well as a few dings in the hood and roof. It also has some stone chips on the nose of the hood, again typical of a 34 year old car that has been driven. As I mentioned in the auction the car also sat in storage 20+ years, and the paint was not washed and waxed as it should have been, therefore there is some checking in the paint of the hood and fenders that occurred during storage. The original owner appreciated the car as a sunny day driver, she did drive the car with reasonable care and this shows, as can be seen in the pictures. However, as y’all know, when driving a car things will happen, and this car reflects that. These types of flaws I’ve described are very hard to capture in pictures, but they are there. I want to be upfront with the potential buyers to make sure they have realistic expectations in what they are bidding on. I’d rather be upfront and lose some bidding dollars than have an unhappy buyer whose expectations were not met. My low mileage original 280Z does look as good in person as it does in the pictures, drives even better, and is worth EVERY penny of my reserve price, which is under $13,000. It attracts people and positive comments every time I drive it. Like I said, it is a great car, and it is not a 100 point show queen; it is a car to be enjoyed. In reality, this car is the best of both worlds, as one could take this car, drive it and enjoy it, and then later down the road have the option turn it into a Barrett Jackson show queen for LESS than the ones that sold in Scottsdale.
