Vehicle Detail

the description/condition of this truck is as follows: First of all, I bought this truck from a retired school teacher. The truck started out as a lease and had 42,000 some odd miles on it when the school teacher bought it back in 2001. He only put 25,000 miles on it in the next 10 years, dutifully did oil changes/basic maintenance and kept truck in a garage. I bought it because I wanted a fuel saving little pick-up to get around in and for that purpose I love the truck. I am selling it because I need to raise funds for a vehicle which I need more than this one, namely, a dump truck for my landscaping business. -as already stated truck is a 2 wheel drive, 4 cylinder, 5-speed standard transmission. -engine is in excellent condition, no leaks, is responsive and sounds good -transmission is 5-speed manual that works flawlessly, no slipping, no issues whatsoever -brakes are working without any problems, no pulling and they are responsive ( brake system passed inspection less than 2,000 miles ago in august 2011 ) -exhaust has no leaks, at least I don't hear any and didn't see any so I can say that with some confidence. -gets 21 mpg mixed city/highway. better mileage on highway and lower city mileage (of course) -body as you can see is almost perfect. there are a few small bubbles developing here and there, and the rear bumper has surface rust (very paintable) if you want to take care of the few minor rust issues it should be a quick and easy job to make body perfect (but I'm no expert). -truck comes with 4 black fender flares that are not currently installed. I was planning on coating fenders inside and out with a 3" wide strip of heavy rust-proof paint or rubberized coating before installing flares to prevent future rust prevention but never got around to it. -all lights and gauges work properly. -ac and heat work excellent. -radio and cassette work great and I get the feeling the old man never used it 'cause the speakers sound like they are new and actually sound pretty good. -interior is in very good shape, no bad odor, could use a shampooing but very cleanable, no tears, overall minor wear. -will need an alignment at some point, it pulls slightly to the right at higher speeds. -tires are all in good shape, I posted a picture of the worst one. alloy (aluminum?) wheels. it will need a spare tire (it's missing). there is a slight vibration at highway speeds (over 60mph) it is probably due to tire balancing maybe shocks? I don't know, but it is minor and I have driven it that way for a while and you probably could too but it will need attention at some point. -frame has normal surface rust but is all in good shape except the very last few inches on both sides at rear where bumper attaches and where rear leaf spring mounts attach. I did some research and found out that it is common with that year ford ranger. I have purchased the parts kit to repair the problem and that will come with the truck. You may want to replace the rear leaf spring shackle/bracket while you are at it if it needs it. A mechanically inclined person could easily do the work (it is a simple, straight forward job). -the parking brake needs to be re-connected. I don't know why but the previous owner disconnected it. all the parts seem to be there. I have just been using the transmission to park and as far as I'm concerned you could do that forever but there it is. -air filter is new -up to date high quality oil change (due in march) -inspected until next august -small window on cap is missing (one of the front ones). I was quoted $20 to replace. -I have listed everything I can think of, feel free to call me (nate) with questions 607 227 0673 before 10 p.m. est. and I will answer any questions and cover anything I may have forgotten. -I have been as comprehensive as I can and openly invite you to inspect/test the truck before you bid. The truck will be sold as is/where is and sale will be final (no returns). there is no warrantee expressed or implied. Full payment within 7 days of completion of auction, or whatever e-bay rules are whichever is sooner. I set the starting bid at half what I'm guessing it's worth. It books at over $4300 but you know how that goes . . . NO RESERVE -Truck is not listed locally for sale. I will let the auction finish.
