I am selling my 1991 Dodge 1-Ton 4x4 and 1987 Featherlite car trailer after operating it in my used car business for 17 years. I am retiring and have no need for it any more. The truck and trailer have been driven only by me and serviced in my repair shop as needed. Being a very picky perfectionist, this truck and trailer always got everything it needed and more. I will try to list everything that has been done to both; When new, all 4 leaf springs were changed to 1 1/2 Ton truck specs. Kelderman air ride suspension front and rear with on board compressor. Custom 9' aluminum flatbed with extra 45 gallon across the bed aluminum tread plate fuel tank with transfer pump to main tank.( 80 gallons total cap.). 2 Pro Tech aluminum underbody tool boxes. Chrome front winch bumper with 8000# Warn winch with remote. Real KC running lights hooked to bright lights with manual shut off switch, US made fog lights. 6 loading lights on flatbed wired with relay for night loading. The 12 valve Cummins has had a 16 cm turbo housing installed, pump turned up 1 turn, and K&N air filter. The dowel pin problem has been done. I pull 25-26# of boost which tells me the engine is rated at about 250 hp. At 104,000 miles, we installed rear main oil seal, Luk Gold Line clutch, new, not rebuilt, NV4500 5-speed transmission and new, U.S.Gear overdrive auxillary transmission. With this set up, I can run in 4th gear direct and overdrive at 70 mph, and have no need to run in 5th gear when pulling. The axle ratio is 3.54. All boxes run synthetic 140/90 wt, engine has always had Chevron Delo 15/40 oil, changed every 5000 miles. Mechanical 2 1/2" Autometer guages have been installed on dash, outside temp guage, PacBrake exhaust engine brake and twin chrome stacks. Inside it has a Flexsteel seat, factory AM/FM CD cassette stereo with added rear speakers. Rear end was completely rebuilt at 150,000 miles, with new ring & pinion, all bearings, brakes, seals, and wheel cyl. Weight is about 13,000# empty. I get 14.7 mpg running empty, and 11.5-12 mpg with 3 cars on. The way this truck and trailer is set up, I can run 75 mph with 3 cars on and drive 1 handed. It drives like an empty pickup. Featherlite trailer is 48' with sleeper and tool storage compartment.Torsion axles with tandam duals, hubs run in 90wt oil. Far superior to triple axle. 8000# Warn winch on front of trailer.
