Vehicle Detail
This is a 1979 Pontiac Esprit / Firebird with a 1969 400 block and 6x heads. (I previously had this listed as a 70 455, but after farther research learned it is indeed a 69 400 YC block with casting numbers 9790071) I am not sure of the age since engine was rebuilt, but it runs very strong, doesn't use or leak any oil. Has a edelbrock performer intake with stock quadrajet carb. (the choke butterfly is missing, but doesn't affect anything other than cold starts... I have a extra complete Quadrajet that I will throw in with the sale of the car that came off a 77 trans am with 400) Seems to have a decent size cam, but not sure of specs. When I purchased the car, the drive train was what is in the car now. I have made many long distance trips in the car with no issues what so ever. It is very reliable and always gets me where I want to go. The transmission is a automatic that shifts super smooth with no issues. Not sure what the rear end gear ratio is, but it runs very low RPM's going down the road. Within the last year, the car has been repainted with all new flawless black dupont paint. all of the window trim, door handles and locks were all painted to match. It has new custom decals ( carbon fiber bird decals) All the fender flairs are new as well as the grills. All new weather stripping, new windshield, New tires, KYB shocks. Interior is also all new including carpet, front leather full recline bucket racing seats, ( The car comes with the factory buckets as well, still in good condition) new dash cover, new head liner, new sun visors, new interior light, re covered rear seats, new door panels and all trim. Also I have installed new speakers and a Sony CD stereo in the dash. I will include all receipts of all work performed to this vehicle as well as a clear Texas title. This car has been a driver/project for me, so there are a few things that I wanted to do that I haven't gotten to do yet... I have a brand new set of long tube headers and a complete exhaust system with mufflers still in the box that will come with the car. I never got around to installing it. The car still has stock manifolds and dual exhaust with flow masters on it right now, but the exhaust is cut off in front of the axle. So I was going to just install the complete new system. I also have a brand new set of engine mounts that will come with the car as well. (when you install the headers, you have to jack the engine up, so I figured you may as well throw the new mounts in at that time) And the last thing is the heater and A/C are not connected. When I got the car, the a/c compressor and hoses were missing, along with a few pieces of the duct work under the dash. The heater core was also not hooked up. I never got around to messing with it and my plan was to remove all the factory stuff and install an aftermarket, more confined unit. Old air products sells a nice unit for around $1000. The last thing I can think of that is also minor is the factory temp and oil pressure gauges aren't reading correct. I have new sending units to make them work. I was told that the sending units on the engine are for dummy lights and that is why the gauges aren't reading correctly. I have an after market oil gauge installed under the dash that works correctly. Other that these minor things, this is a super nice and fun to drive car. It goes down the road great and cruises with little effort. Fuel mileage isn't bad for what it is either! If you have questions, feel free to ask me. I don't have anything to hide and will do my best to answer your questions the best that I can. Winner of this auction will be responsible for arranging their own shipping or pick up.
