This bike is in EXCELLENT shape and condition to be 12 years old. This bike was VERY well maintained. It has never been wrecked or dropped. All the paint is original and is in GREAT shape and still shines like new. There is very minamal wear on the chrome. You can notice, from the right side front of engine gurad has some chrome peeling. Also, there is one VERY small scratch on the left side of tank. Keep in mind that the bike is 12 years old but doent show it in my opinion.The bike has just had the 50K service and was gone through by one of our trained Honda Techs. This bike is 100% ready for the Highway!!! As you can see in the pictures it has several $$$$.$$ of accsessories installed. It has driver and passanger Mustang seats with back rests. The grips are make by Kurakyn. Has light bar with accessory switch. Chrome radiator cover. Leather tang strap. The 6 tail pipe exhaust is made by Cobra, and gives this bike an amazing sound!!! It has CHROME top hard box trim. Chrome front fender trim. Has Kurakyn driver pegs with Cobra passanger floor boards. Also, has Kurkyn HWY pegs for those long trips. The handlebars have a pull back risor which sets the bars back more for added comfort, can be removed if needed. The Tour Edition comes factory with the locking rear hard boxs and windshield. Overall this VALKYRIE is a head turner. Its a GREAT bike that Honda built very few years and are becoming very hard to find in this kind of condition. I rode the bike down the highway right before placing this add. I must say that it has been a long time since I through my leg over one of the beast but WOW!!! it will fly. Very smooth and comfortable. Great all around bike. The Honda Valkyrie motorcycle's design can be traced to the Honda Gold Wing series, which was first released in the 1970's. The Gold Wing, codenamed "Project 371" inside Honda, was intended to compete with the Kawasaki Z1. It became very popular among the public because it was easily customizable with the addition of bags, fairings and other accessories. Because of this success, Honda decided to create the Valkyrie in 1997 and model it after the Gold Wing. The Valkyrie motorcycle series was released by Honda from 1997 to 2004. Valkyrie Development The first Valkyrie in 1997 featured a liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine. The bore and stroke measured 2.8 by 2.5 inches and had a displacement of 1.520 liters. It had a 5-speed shaft final drive transmission and had a fuel capacity of approximately 21 liters. Similar to the Gold Wing, the Valkyrie was a large motorcycle, having a wheelbase of 66.5 inches and weighed 582 pounds. 2000 Valkyrie The 2000 Valkyrie GL1500 was a touring motorcycle that featured the usual 1.520-liter displacement 6-cylinder engine for which the Gold Wing series has been known. It had the same bore and stroke as the 1997 Valkyrie, and had a compression ratio of 9.8-to-1. It used a solid-state digital ignition and a 5-speed Cardan final drive. The front tire measured 150/80-17, while the back tire was 180/70-16. The front brakes used a dual 11.65 inch discs while the rear brake was a single 12.44 inch disc. It had a fuel capacity of 20 liters. It produced a maximum power of 100 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 95.9 foot-pounds of torque at 5,000 RPM. The wheelbase was the same as the 1997 Valkyrie, but it was heavier at 681.2 pounds. GL1500CT Valkyrie Tourer The Valkyrie also was available with the touring package, which featured a full-coverage fork-mounted windshield, as well as a pair of 35 liter capacity chrome saddlebags. Its specifications were the same with the typical Valkyrie except that it weighed in heavier at 714.3 pounds. It had a number of optional chromed accessories that included a swing arm-pivot cover, side covers, a side stand, control levers, handlebar risers, handlebar clamps, a radiator screen, radiator cap and oil-filter cap Honda Motorcycles produced the Valkyrie cruiser bike from 1997 to 2004. The Valkyrie features six carburetors feeding fuel to a six-cylinder boxer engine that was originally used in Honda's Goldwing motorcycles. Engine A 1520cc, six-cylinder, four-stroke engine powers the Valkyrie. The engine features a bore of 2.8 inches and a stroke of 2.5 inches. The 9.8:1 compression ratio helps the engine deliver approximately 100 horsepower. A shaft-drive, five-speed transmission delivers the engine's power to the rear wheel. Chassis The front suspension consists of an inverted fork angled at 45 degrees with 5.1 inches of travel. Dual shock absorbers and a five-position reload spring system in the rear allow the rider to manually adjust the suspension to meet specific road conditions. The rear travel is 4.7 inches. Double discs in the front and a single disc in the rear provide braking. Size The Valkyrie uses a 66.5-inch wheelbase. The overall length measures 100.2 inches. The seat is placed 28.9 inches above the ground. The fuel tank holds 5.3 gallons. The front tire measures 150/80-R17; the rear is slightly smaller at 180/70-R16.
