Up for sale is my 1966 mustang C code coupe. I bought and restored this car back in 1998. I t has always been garaged and mostly trailered to car shows. It is a numbers matching 289 with an automatic trans and power steering, it has deluxe interior and was painted back the original sauterne gold. This car has never had any rust since new and it has all the original sheet metal and all the floor pans are original. Everything on the car works as it should. I do have all the original paperwork with this car including the original window sticker and owners manual, and a binder full of original receipts including the 3000 and 6000 mile service receipts dated back in 1966 and every year since, you won't believe all the documents that have been kept up with. This car was bought by a lady on oct. 8 1965 when she was 53 or 54 years old this was her only car, she kept this car for about 23 years until she sold it around 1987 or 1988, shes the one that kept up with all the paper work. When I bought the car from the second or maybe third owner i went through the receipts and got the ladies phone number from one of the of the more recent receipts and gave her a call, she was in her 80's then. She had no idea the car had ended up in Alabama. After I restored the car i sent her a photo album of the restored car and she was so excited she said it looked just like the day she had bought it back in 1965, i still have the letters and christmas cards she wrote me for a couple of years. I 've showed this car well over a 100 times and i've yet to see a car with this much history with it, last count over 168 trophies this car has won. The car may have a nick or two in the paint but most people that see it says its near perfect, interior is gorgeous and has won several best interior awards, the motor and engine compartment is as clean as they come with every belt, hose, hose clamp, oil filter, paint, decals, and every nut and bolt correct . This is a California car and all the emissions are still on the car just as it came new. Its as original as any car i have seen, even the tires have the 7/8 " wide white wall tire , original jack and lug wrench, you just have to see this car in person to understand how rare it is. Although the car was restored back in 1998 the car still shows really well, not a 10,000.00 paint job but still shines really good not perfect but i may be more critical since its my car, interior is near flawless and i did freshen up under the hood last winter with all new hoses , paint ,decals, oil filter, hood hinges were restored along with exhaust manifolds and ect. near perfect. I have put about 7000 miles on the car in the nearly 15 years i've owned it. I bought the car in September of 1997 and restored it that fall and early winter of 1998. The door tag reads 6 R O7 C - 65B luxury bucket seats - Ext Color Z - Int Trim 68 ivy gold and white- Date code J Sept 27- DSO Los Angeles- Axle 6- Trans 6- Engine C -Car was built in the San Jose plant. Check out the video of the car it was made not long ago and still looks the same. In Alabama the DMV only requires residents to have a bill of sale for 1974 and older autos so it will be sold with just a bill of sale.
