Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 1973 Chevy 3/4 ton. I've owned it for around five years, bought it from my next door neighbor who owned it for around 15 years before that. He let me use it a couple times for lumberyard runs, and I fell in love.Engine is a 350cid, with a rochester Q-jet. It has the full AC set up, but I never bothered getting it working. It's a 4speed manual with a granny gear. Interior is pretty nice. Plastic door panels are sun-blanched, but bench seat veliour has no tears, nor does headliner. This truck is ready to go as a CA smog exempt, low maintenance hauler OR it's a great candidate for a restore. This vintage of truck is full of memories for me, riding in the back with a bunch of kids from my little league team (remember when you could do that?) It's been a real occasional driver, but is a hard worker: Always starts and runs strong. In the time I had it I:Installed HEI ignition/8mm wires/Bosch platnium tip plugsReplaced radiator and fan clutch Bought a set of aluminum standard GM 8lugs (which come with it)At the moment it has REMINGTON WIDE BRUTE off-road tires, which are okay but coming up on a change. I've used the truck for construction work, and it's always made money. I kept synthetic oil in it, and it's always shown up for me. It would be great for someone in landscaping, carpenter... It just eats up the hauling. Issues it has:No thermostat: Probably has a blown head gasket. I never bothered fixing it.No gauges or lights in cabClutch pedal spring back is hampered on that bar from which it hinges. I have to lift it the last two inches so the freeplay is not compromised. There is deep rust on the cab floor, and one hole about 1" x 1" (but floor feels solid, has no sag) That's all i can think of. If I was staying in L.A. and working construction and studio grip, I would keep this baby. It's a minimalist rig. Dual exhaust, glasspacks give it a great character. Aluminum running boards and steel push bumper give it the "enforcer" aspect. Very fun.
