Up for sale is a 1988 Honda Accord LX. This is my parents car, and they no longer have a need for it, so it's on the auction block. This car is in good shape for 24 years old (“only” 142,000 miles on it). The interior is in good shape, and the exterior is in decent shape minus the dent in the trunk. With a new trunk-lid, the only exterior issues would be the Honda rust spots around the rear wheel wells and light rust other places (please see the pictures) and the 24 year old paint job.Someone stole the Honda logo off the back a few years ago and I replaced it with a Cadillac emblem. It's usually good for a laugh or two when people realize what it says. The car runs well when started. Usually it will start easily with little effort, but occasionally it will not start after having been driven for a while. It's possible the carburetor could use some adjustment to fix this. Anytime this happens, waiting for a while fixes the issue and the car will start. The exhaust is very loud and will need to be replaced. Other than that and the list below, the car is in good shape. Still, the car is being sold AS-IS. Please view all pictures before bidding! Known issues: Dent in trunk – needs new trunklid at least (please see pictures). Trunk will open/ close, but it takes a lot of effort. Carburetor issue – mentioned above Driver's window – rolls down, but won't go back up without a lot of help (probably needs a new regulator) Driver's door – does not lock/unlock from outside Leaks oil – most likely from valve cover gasket, approximately 1qt per month, depending on the amount driven Power steering leaks as well Needs a new exhaust – not sure where but the car is quite loud. Air conditioning – doesn't work, may need a recharge, or new compressor Car is 24 years old—expect a decent amount of wear Terms of sale: Car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed, written or implied. There are other issues (mentioned above) but for anyone planning to drive the car home after winning, I want to highlight these again: 1) Car sometimes won't start immediately after having been driven for a while. Seems like the carburetor may be flooding, but I'm not sure. Waiting for a while solves this problem and car starts. 2) Exhaust is loud and needs to be replaced. Car is driveable in this state but may violate some noise ordinances.
