I am the 2nd owner of this car, bought from the original owner in 2002 with 9,802 miles. It had been in storage since 1984. It now has 11,500 miles with the original paint, 350 motor, automatic trans, all in excellent condition. This is an all original car with the exception of the few items listed below. It currently has headers and dual exhuast that was installed by the original owner, but the car comes with the complete original exhaust system as shown in the pictures. The drivers door has several door dings in it which happened while sitting in the orignal owners garage. To the best of my knowledge, and with the help from a few '81 Z28 guru's, the following is a list of the only non-factory-original parts on the car:Alpine stereo system (done by the original owner)Dealer installed t-topsDealer installed Ziebart undercoatingChapman lockBattery and alternatorMaster cylinderTires Regarding the interior, below is an email from a Z28 collector that recently looked at the car- Just a follow-up on your interior... The two items on your build sheet which represent the very rare interior you have are: B16 CUST INTERIOR YR1 CUST FRT SEAT These two items do not even appear in the Original Chevrolet Dealers ordering manual (Which I have). I have build sheets on my cars and many other 81 Z28 Camaros. These designations do not appear on any of the build sheets I have. This is the reason many people may think this interior is not original to your car, but obviously the build sheet proves that it is. B93 DOOR EDGE (On your build sheet) are the chrome edge trims on your doors. Sometimes these are added after the fact. Yours are original.
