Vehicle Detail
1968 Suzuki T500 Cobra Vehicle Description Japans 1st big bore 500 two stroke! The bike that started the superbike craze. Offering 47 horsepower, a 14 second quarter mile, top speed of 110 mph, reliable piston port motor, and all at just 410 lbs. This bike has a lot of torque and plenty of power for two-up riding. This is a very special restoration. The frame, swing arm, center stand, side stand, battery box, and tool kit holder were all powder coated gloss black. You can see triple plated chrome, period correct PPG paint by Vintage Suzuki, brand new emblems and badges, handlebar grips, foot pegs, chain, and new grey cables that match perfectly. Nos parts everywhere, bolts and screws that look like they just came from the factory. The seat is immaculate! The seat was shipped to New Zealand and professionally rebuilt by world class seat man Daryl Waller (stripped and painted pan, correct suede like material matched from an original template, new foam, buttons and hardware, better than new). The handlebar is the correct internal wiring type, it looks great, and is period correct. Beautiful 60's styled valenced fenders and chrome tank panels with knee pads. The Carbs are period correct, 34mm monsters! Look at the shine on the engine covers, oil pump cover, engine barrels, heads, and wheels; has a mirror finish gloss this is sure to impress. Even the wheels were professionally built (laced and trued by Buchanan's in Azusa CA), known worldwide for building wheels, making custom spokes, and truing rims. The motor has very low original miles, only 4046. The cases were split, the oil capacity increased, seals replaced, new rings, and pistons are on their original bore. The gas tank has never been creamed and is in great shape for the year, see picture in listing. The carbs were synchronized, fuel was run dry, and the bike will be shipped without a battery. Upon assembly, the right rear shock was dented and scratched on the inner side. This is not noticeable as it faces inwards and can be repaired. The bike comes with a Certificate of Title, transferable and honored in all 50 states. I will write a bill of sale to the new owner. This is a fine restoration that you will be proud to own. *Movie of bike: http://s859.photobucket.com/albums/ab154/GPARTSCHIV/?action=view¤t=MVI_2432.mp4 *Extra Pictures of Bike: http://s859.photobucket.com/albums/ab154/GPARTSCHIV/?albumview=slideshow Shipping: The bike can be shipped anywhere in the world; Greg@shipmybike.com is a reliable source.
