Vehicle Detail
ORIGINAL AND UNMOLESTED 1966 Mustang, with 53175 original and documented miles. You know the story...little old lady buys car, drives very little, always garaged. Goes into nursing home, gives car to grandson; he is not car guy, keeps 10 years in garage and then sells to me. This is a once in a lifetime chance to purchase and unmolested and untouched ORIGINAL classic pony car that started it all! I have some original paperwork that documents this is original low mile survivor; original (NOT reproduction) owners manual in original owners name, with oil change information from 1968 and 6006 miles; receipt from Ford Dealer when car was repainted in 1980 with miles recorded at 45762. This is and extremely nice car and ONLY modifications from original are radial whitewall tires; six blade stainless flex fan (engine runs cooler); open element chrome air cleaner (breathes easier); Pertronix Electronic Ignition (starts instantly and runs smoother); and new dual exhaust tipped muffler. The original air cleaner and fan are in trunk; all of these minor modifications can easily be reversed by new owner; but as is, this little Mustang runs and sounds great! This car has new rear springs and I also have receipts from dealer replacing the clutch, resurfacing the flywheel and balancing the driveshaft in 1990, (over $1100!) and the dealer replacing the voltage regulator. When I rescued this baby, I cleaned and detailed the engine compartment, replacing ALL of the hoses, plug wires, fuel lines with original Ford scripted parts. I had the carb rebuilt by a professional shop; It also has a new starter, alternator, fuel pump, plugs, etc. This time capsule still has the original FORD scripted headlights; both front windshield and rear window are original and carry the Ford logos! I also replaced the hood and door rubber bumpers and they open and close effortlessly! This car is ready to drive and enjoy. The paint shines and looks great on this car, but is beginning to show its age with a few chips and scrapes. I have receipts from the Ford dealer when this car was repainted in 1990 (showing 45762 miles), for $2193 and some rust repair was done behind the rear wheels. There are a few small bubbles beginning from this older enamel repaint, but overall this car looks very good!. Good luck bidding and ask questions or have car inspected BEFORE you bid! Your bid is your contract! Check out my feed back; I expect the same from buyers. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end listing early. Do NOT waste my time asking for my reserve, if you want this gem, bid accordingly. This is an extremely nice, driver quality Mustang, and as such, this car will not win Gold at MCA, nor will it sell for six figures at Barret Jackson in its present condition! I bought this car to drive and enjoy: I took the car out for Christmas Church , and as usual, it draws crowds and attention; this car is for the individual who wants to drive and appreciate everything about a classic Mustang, without the worries of a Too-Nice-To-Drive-Show car! (A single stage enamel paint job, done in 1990 will not allow you to compete against $50,000 trailer queens). I am trying to be realistic and honest as possible, the paint and overall condition of this mustang is very good, and I strongly feel it is meant to be driven and enjoyed! I you have additional questions, need additonal pictures, please ask. Thanks, and good luck bidding!
