Vehicle Detail
This is an original 1959 Plymouth Custom 6 Passenger Suburban with original 318 2-barrel engine for sale. The good- Previous owner rebuilt transmission, replaced brake shoes, wheel cylinders, lines, master cyl, shocks, front end, changed to 15" wheels from 14" originals. I have rebuilt starter, replaced starter solenoid, voltage regulator, fuel filter, air filter, battery, coil, belts, 4 new 15" tires to match profile of original 14", all glass appears good, dealer add on A/C blows, but pretty sure compressor needs rebuild & switched to R-134, runs and street drives. The not so good- Engine smokes some after setting a few years since started, needs carb rebuild, tailgate bottom is rusted, Front valance is bent but repairable, dents on rear panels, dents on chrome body side pieces and a few pieces missing, half dollar size hole in passenger rear seat floor, left rear brake light needed, needs interior, available from SMS Auto- though some door panels and much of the vinyl is salvageable, rear window motor works, but needs lubing/cleaning, dash lights need replacing, horns in-op (probably a simple fix). If I kept it I would add Engine Restorer, rebuild carb, change to dual master cylinder (my safety preference), fix minor safety issues (horn, brake light), and drive it while doing a little at a time. Btw, 2 body shops said they could do all the work without replacing quarters, though it may be cheaper to find a better tailgate. Both shops were more reasonable than I thought. Overall a great car with lots of potential. I'm only selling it because I have another car that takes precedent and I have too many house projects to boot. If I don't sell it, I'll store it until I restore it, lol. Don't hesitate to ask questions, I love to talk cars and will answer to the best of my ability. I have more photos and videos of car if you send your e-mail.
