Reluctantly, I am selling my 40th birthday present. It has run like a charm on straight veggie oil since 2006 when I was looking for an alternative to fossil fuel. I purchased the car from a talented and trusted Mercedes Benz mechanic who has a local business and is very familiar with all aspects of this vehicle. Two months ago the car overheated and the mechanic determined it has a cracked head gasket. Obviously this is going to take work to bring it back to its former glory. But vehicles like this are so picturesque and so classic that they are timeless and are worth the effort in restoring them, not to mention the fuel cost savings (I have not paid for fuel in 5 years - a savings of $7500 at minimum). The mileage in the vehicle shows as 238,769 which is typical. If you are a Mercedes aficionado, don't pass up this vehicle. I'm starting this out at a low opening price. The parts alone are worth way more, of course. You will need to have this car removed by tow service as it is not running in this condition. It passed its last inspect in 2011. Good luck! There is a 90% reduction in emissions when choosing to use pure biodiesel over petroleum diesel. Burning fossil fuels continually adds to the carbon load of the atmosphere. Recycles waste oil from restaurants. SVO can (and is) made domestically using renewable crops, employing farmers and helping the local economy. Make a positive political statement. Decrease your reliance on a system that you may criticize. There are alternative sources of energy, now! Help create a new system, one that reflects your values. Biodiesel exhaust smells like popcorn!
