Vehicle Detail

This is an original 1916 Buick Convertible This is the first convertible buick ever made You can hop in and get pushed around... It rolls very smoothly. What you see is what you get. Does not have the the front pieces. No engine, trans, drive shaft. It only has the housing of the rear end. Has the equipment for the brakes on both sides rear and they move freely but the pedal is not hooked up. Steers very smoothly, controls on the steering wheel have the links all the way into the engine compartment and move freely Tires hold air and the tread reads "None skid" Wooden wheels are in great shape, just paint is chipping off. Original gauges, I dont know if they work. Has gas gauge on the tank in rear. It seems like the last time is was registered was in the 70's in texas Tank is there but has rust inside. Spare tire is there but rotten. Has the frame work for the convertible top. All metal frame and body is in good shape. Fenders have maybe one or two small dings, quarter size. Very little rust. Needs all the upholstery done. Vinyl on doors is dry and a lot is now missing. Seats are just springs. Was transported 1400 miles recently because the guy that agreed to buy it was full of S..T and bailed. Ask questions! Dont assume! Needed all the wood floors and a bit of rust work under the doors as you can see in the pictures. Im currently in the process of installing all new wood floor and fixing the rust with new metal. NO body filler will be used so that you can see the work done. So it will need finishing. I will post pictures of it done within a couple days. No title, I bought it with a bill of sale. Has vin tags that reads D-45 On Dec-27-11 at 12:59:53 PST, seller added the following information: These new pictures are to show how its coming along. It will be ready by the end of auction. I just wanted to post these to give enough time for everyone to see how it will be. All of the wood on the floor was rotten so that was replaced. The splash guard was rusted under the wood so I put a new sheet of metal on both sides, the entire length of the splash guard. Under the doors was okay but very soft metal and was about to show rust. So while I had it taken all apart I put new metal starting from the front of the front door to the end of the rear door. This is a one solid piece that is 4 inch tall. The doors themselves do not have rust and were not touched. This is only from the door frame to the splash guard. I only replaced the wood floor and bottoms of the seats. Not all the wood in the car. There are still some pieces that run vertical on the inner side of the doors, under the dash and back. Again, a lot of the vinyl is now missing on the doors and sides. The window of the convertible top is still there like the picture shows. The seats are bad and are pretty much only springs. It still has some left, sort of but for the sake of argument, just assume no vinyl is left at all. Will need re upholstery all the way around. Remember! I will not be finishing it! I will not use body filler! So you will need to do the bondo work. I did this so that you can see all of the metal. Everything was welded, not riveted.
