Vehicle Detail
So up for sale is a 1974 Toyota LandCruiser FJ40. IT has just under 73k on the 1F motor. Its mainly a trail rig set up right now. Has the factory hard top with all the glass intact. Comes with Bestop half-doors and bikini top and hardware. The rear jump seats are mounted but are not finished so you cant sit on em yet. The front bench seats need re-upholstry. This is a late year 74 so its a little unique. 74 was the year they started to change to the 2F motor and put the shifter on the floor. This FJ has the 1F with a 4-spd on the floor as opposed to a "3 on the tree" configuration. The PO did a semi frame off restoration so many new components were added to the chassis. I have all the old receipts. The frame was repaired in one spot in the rear and a new Hell Creek 3" suspension was added. The underside of the tub along with the frame and axles were coated in a paint on bed liner. The interior of the tub was also coated but had started to peel up in many spots. I had planned on scraping it all off and re sealing with the better spray on bed liner but i never got around to it. It also has 33" super swampers with 80% or better tread. As far as rust there is actually minimal problem areas. A few surface spots but for the most part its pretty good. The only major spots were on both rocker panels under the driver and passenger doors. The passenger side I treated then filled with spray foam then sealed with JB weld. The driver side was only treated and partially filled, so that needs to be finished. There is also a HILIFT 48" jack that comes with the FJ. Its mounted on the front bumber and can be seen in some of the pictures i have taken of it. I also replaced the ignition cable and ignition cylinder with brand new parts. The cylinder is straight from Toyota and came with two keys. Currently the vehicle is not road ready. I am in the middle of having all the wiring pulled out and replaced with a brand new universal harness from EZ Wiring. Last I had checked with the mechanic doing the work he said that the ignition system was all hooked up and the FJ could now start with the key again. I got some questions from bidders about the level of completion for the wiring job. I went and saw the mechanic this past saturday (the 17th) and the FJ is running and driving. The only things left are connecting the temp and oil sending units, which i need to order, and putting the instument panel back in order. I have an agreement with the mechanic that time is not an issue and he can work on it at his convenience. Obviously I wont let the vehicle go fully until the wiring is done as that is my problem and not the future owners. If someone wins it then the FJ will be held until the wiring is done then full payment can be given and the vehicle handed over. Thank you for your interest.
