Up for bid is my 1988 Mustang. Its a convertible with a 2.3 liter Fuel injected engine and is a automatic. I bought this car for my daughter as she started college in Flagstaff and is a daily driver it has provided her with dependable transportation that looked cool as well. Ok, to be very honest I am only selling it so that she can pay for her rent that she miscalculated in her budget so yep she will be taking city transportation for her spring term. Ok, now you know my story, now about the car. The Good: Engine is fuel injected and starts right up, Idles well and there is little to no smoke. Does not burn oil, Does not over heat and charges the new battery well. I have pulled all the spark plugs and all four have been burning clean.Transmission fluid is clean, A After market K&N Air Filter has been installed. Convertible top is in very good condition and works great. Tires have less that 2000 miles on them and they all match. Brakes work as they should and the car drives straight with little or no pull or vibration. Controls and lights on the dash work as they should, cruise control works, heater works well. The body is pretty straight with some scratches and dings and small dents, very little surface rust.I have replaced with new parts: Battery, Ignition Control Module, Coil, Oil pressure sending unit, Engine Temperature sending unit, Brake shoes (rear), Oil change & Filter & radiator flush. The Less than Good: This Model even when it was new had little power and still doesn't But,it will cruise at 65 just fine. The A/C does not blow cold air, After market stereo and speakers needs to be replaced, Interior is original and shows signs of its age, Transmission slips at times and shifts hard in second (been this way for 6000 miles), some dings and scrapes on the aftermarket alloy rims. Note: engine likes to try to stall at times after warm up. (diagnosed as a engine control/sensor management issue not mechanical according an scanner/code reader and my brother in law who is a certified Mechanic who inspected this car with me) There are some minor oil leaks but, not real bad. The car is 24 years old. The car is sold with no implied warranty and is sold as is.
