HAS PENNSYLVANIA inspected + emessions 9/12 ****The head gasket needs replaced, Vehicle was shut down and towed once it had started going**** 1988 ranger 5 speed 4 cyl 2.3L 2wd was driving it everyday for work average of 600 miles a week got about 19mpg many NEW parts Fuel tank only 2 months old Fuel Sending Unit only 2 months old Radiator only 3 months old (non ac equip standard or automatic transmission) Heater Core 1 month old All heater hoses 1 month old Tune up kit Distributor cap, rotor, 4 plugs wires all only 2 months old about 3000 miles on them --------timing belt only has 300 miles on it --------------serpentine belt only has 300 miles or less on it temp sending unit 2000 miles ago new Blower fan new 4 months ago Blower fan resistor 4 months old ---->>Clutch and slave cylinder only have 6000 miles Was a strong runner before the head gasket started to go Some of the coolant went into the oil. My mechanic does not seem to think it will be an issue just replace the gasket, i can have him do the work and you can drive it home. The typical ford rust was and is on this truck. I cut out around the wheel wells etc and patch it with fresh metal it is primed ready for paint.
