Some say this is the best of the modern SL's. It has everything going for it. The 1972 450SL is a special car indeed. With the large V8 power. Sharp and smooth small European bumpers and power windows. This car was a ONE year car. Unlike the 350SL with manual windows and many with out A/C this car has all the bells and whistles. This example is not to be missed. With known history from day one. It was purchased in San Jose California new and lived its life in Los Gatos owned by a prominent female collector it has been maintained to the highest levels. Always and I mean always garaged and never driven in the rain this car has been treated like a princess. Sadly her owner passed away earlier this year. Here are some but now all replaced parts - New Soft Top (7 years ago) - New Center Support and Flex Joints on the Drive Shaft - Rebuilt Steering Including, Ball Joints, Tie Rod Ends, Bushings ect.. - New Shocks - New Brake Lines and Brakes - Recent Muffler System - New Tires - You get the picture...... This car has been inspected by a Factory Level Mercedes Mechanic and he believes that the car has a New Factory Motor in it. Several points he brought to our attention shows this. Please see the pictures and examine. This engine is new down to the dip stick. -- Please note. During the photo shoot it appears that there is a cloud over the right front fender causing a slight discoloration in the photo. That is not there in real life it is a shadow.
