Vehicle Detail

Hello Again from John & Winnie This is our 350 Scrambler. Some of you know we usually restore the 750's. I went to see another bike and found this one instead. The owner had it outside his storage bin running. I had to have it. I promised my wife and myself I wasn't going to buy anything for it but only clean & go thru the mechanicals & electric. Unfortunately I couldn't resist. It had no battery strap so I bought one. The clear coat looked like crap on the engine covers and rear hub. I hand rubbed it off and hand polished them. I lightly cleaned the bolts/screws that I had to remove. I did not use the high speed buffer for anything. We soaked the engine & wheels with penitrating oil & hand cleaned them. The front wheel still has the clear coat and is almost perfect. The rear rim has some rust here & there. There are many flaws throughout but overall it is in great shape. They are as follows. Seat has separated underneath. If I were to repair I would use silicone and re-inforce the area underneath. The outside is in excellent condition. There is a small dent on the front & rear fender and one on the trim ring around the headlight. The left side cover has a break at the top pin. I did not repair it but if I did I would use fiberglass on the back side I not worry about the outside. It can't come off because of the mufflers. The tank has a small dent one the right side. The paint is not broken and a dent specialist would make quick work of pushing it out probably not detectable. The brake light wire from the lever has cracked and has gray tape on it. This part is available new. The inexpensive part is black but ocasionally there are still gray available for 50-100. The gray cables are also available fairly cheap. The original gray cable one the bike work well. The rear tire is like new aswell as the front. Although the front tire has some cracking in the sidewall. I would not worry about it since the tire is 3 & 4 ply plus a tube. If you plan to take long trips you should replace it. Overall I love the appearance of the bike & it's all original parts. I would keep it as is. I went through it with a fine tooth comb and it all checked out nicely. Everything works well and it runs perfectly. Honda was really good about making the power needed regardles of the engine size. This little beauty is in it's happy place from 60-80. I changed the oil & put 50m miles on it with no problems. Hope you enjoy. Need more information or pictures just call 404-545-7697. Sincrely, J&W We have 2 people wanting to see it this week weather permitting so if you want it please bid. We will end the auction of someonelse buys it locally or over the phone. Thanks and good luck! The gas tank has some rust inside. It looks like it has been cleaned but there are spotty rust here & there. Doesn't seem to be any loose debris. Also the oil drain plug has been removed with pliers and is marked up from this. No problem getting it out for the oil change. I will keep adding as I see or remember them. Not trying to get over on anyone just love the old bikes and appreciate them as they are. John
