Vehicle Detail
1972 Mercedes Benz 280se with the rare and efficient inline 6 cylinder engine. I believe the mileage is right around 115,000 I don't remember exactly and the car is not by me as i type this. It is only a 5 digit odometer so there is no 100k digit but i would doubt the mileage is only in the tens of thousands. The car has been stored for years and was to be a project but have simply run out of time to get to it. The engine turns over and is complete and the electrical works. The fuel pump is disconnected from power so I have not tried to start it. Also, i would not try starting it till oil is changed to prevent damage to the engine. The brakes have pressure and do work .The body has some surface rust and paint rust on the top half of the car. The underside has more rust with a few holes. Floors seem solid its mainly in lower fenders and lower parts of trunk. The interior is Beautiful and the original headrests which are not shown in pictures are included and it great shape. The leather is great and the wood has no rot at all just needs a good re-varnish the rear seat has a tear of the leather in the rear back rest in the center. I have many old Mercedes and this is one of the nicest interiors I've seen condition wise. The original Becker Radio is NOT included I took it out to put in a old Mercedes se coupe of mine. This is the only part removed from this car. The glass is good on the car as well. This would make nice cheap way to get into a simple Mercedes project that is completely in tacked and would not take much to have back on the road. It would also make a great parts car but I would like to see the old girl go somewhere that would put it on the road rather then tear it apart. There is NO reserve so good luck bidding and please ask any questions you may have before bidding. Also car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time before it ends.On Nov-25-11 at 13:14:26 PST, seller added the following information: Addition info : The car has all the orginal AC unit under the hood and lights and power windows work as well.
