Vehicle Detail
1963 lincoln continental 430 mel motor This car is very close to completion but needs a few things in which I will list. I do not have time or energy to finish this car. My loss and somebody's gain. Car just had $8,000 put into the body and the pearl white paint pretty close to flawless except for 2 small paint nicks on trunk and side of the hood. The paint is beautiful it was done from a very well known auto body person in the area. Fresh chrome bumpers and door handles. Windows were taken out to do the bodywork. Under the hood was painted along with the trunk. The car will need front and rear window gaskets which are 350 per gasket and a 3-6 week lead time. I have both windows and the glass is in really good condition. Started installing all the trim and weather striping which is about 98% done have pretty much all the trim. I just got the interior and panels redone looks great waiting for the 2 rear panels which i will have in the next couple days. I also just put in new floor panels and carpet. I am also waiting for the front armrest which I should have soon. The headliner could be replaced in the future. The power seats, windows and door locks will have to be hooked up. I just got everything in and don't have time to play with that. I'm sure most of it works. The ac fan and heat seem to blow air might need a recharge. All lights inside and out work and blinkers. The car also needs front and rear marker light. The under carriage has some rust which is why I replaced the floor panels and freshly undercoated the car. It looks alot better now and is pretty solid. I lowered the rear 3" with custom blocks. We made them at are fabrication shop I made the blocks right! there are generic ones out there that are floating around for these cars. The front is lowered with brand new eaton spprings 2" wich i think is more like 3 with once they settled. Looks pretty sick with the stance it took. I t can be put back to regular height very easily if somebody wanted it back to stock. I have the stock whitewall tires and wheels and original hubcaps in which are in excellent shape. The wheels on it now are 22" x 9 lexani wheels and hankook 245-30-22 tires which are close to brand new. I drove the car once to about 60mph seems to ride good brakes pulls a little to the right but overall good. The car needs exhaust. It pretty much has dumps under the car right now. The motor supposedly was rebuilt some time ago. I compression tested it and it read aboout 150-160 in every cylinder which is very strong. It should have a lot of life left in her. The motor does leak oil and will some times leak power steering fluid. I also just put new spark plugs in it after the test. I powder coated the air cleaner that's on it now and did a set of valve cover in matching wrinkle black. I have a lot of extra parts that go with the car like air cleaners, valve covers, radator tanks, (a whole parts car), disassembled engine and a tranny. I have parts galore. I have only had the car for 6 months and trying to list everything I no about it and what i have done to it. I am trying to list everything but there is so much I probably forget.
