Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a California 1960 VW Karmann Ghia "AS-IS". Although provenance is single family owned, the maintenance, delivery, bill of laden, et.al records did not survive and no warranty can be made. I am out of state and unable to show the vehicle. This is a special ordered, original, and custom made 1960 Black Karmann Ghia 2+2 coupe with red leather seats. Excellent Provenance; owned and operated in California only, one-family ownership, original California black plates, straight body-ideal for restoration. This vehicle was special ordered and custom built by Volkswagen in August 1959 with black exterior and single color red leather seats. It was shipped from West Germany, delivered, and first registered in California in 1959 where it was maintained and driven daily in the San Francisco bay area from 1959-1996. It has been in a enclosed storage facility from 1996 to the present. The engine is purported to have been rebuilt and superficial paint applied to the exterior around 1990 however should be considered original. Retains original pan and 6 volt electrical system. This vehicle was maintained and driven monthly from 1996-2006 however the vehicle has not been driven or started since 2007 when it was last driven into storage and I moved out-of-state to continue with a small start-up recycling business. Unfortunately for me, my business constraints do not allow me to continue with the plans to restore this beautiful vehicle as I planned so I must let it go. My loss can be your gain. The engine is purported to have been rebuilt and superfical pain applied to the exterior around 1990 however it is an original vehicle. Retains original pan and 6 volt electrical system. There is some seam unbinding on drivers seat, a superficial scrape on the passenger side quarter panel, and small spot on the top from a paint bubble.
