This recent Rangoon Red paint job shows the sculpted lines that the Ford designers offered for 1964. Power to this Galaxie is a 390cid V-8 mated to a 4-speed synchro smooth transmission. To push a little more power out of this solid engine is an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. Power to those oversize 275/60/15 rear tires is a 3.50:1 gear. This 500XL comes with beautiful crush vinyl bucket seats with console and wall-to-wall carpeting. To show off this interior are courtesy lights, contoured deluxe seat belts, padded dash and visors, AM radio and many gauges to watch and monitor the engine under load. Some exterior appointments include new dual exhaust, American Racing, and much more. Iacooca, then 36, was one of Ford’s youngest general managers and replaced the overly conservative Robert McNamara. He recognized the value of performance products and pushed cars like this to the marketplace. We know his quote, “Race on Sunday, sell on Monday.” 1964 was the 4th and final year for this body style. Interior trim was updated and the exterior stayed much the same as previous years. This car was born in Atlanta Ga during the month of November 1964. The engine bay is clean and detailed but not overly done. This will be a fun and dependable car to drive or show. Paint a #22 on the doors and take it to the track! Tires, hoses and belts are fresh. Those of us that can remember bits & pieces of the mid-sixties, there was always a Galaxie that seemed to have a little something – something that others didn’t. Well – this is one of those. If you are looking for a fun car to do some weekend driving, having a piece of Detroit iron that is still sought after, that will only increase in value, be proud of, consider this red over white Galaxie. Where else can you have this much classic America for this little money? Let one of our sales associates walk you around this car. 1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500 for Sale 1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500 for Sale Stock #00575-ATL (866) 542-8392 - (704) 598-2130 sales@streetsideclassics.com Showroom Hours: Monday - Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm 1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500 for Sale VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS ENGINE: 390 CID BODY STYLE: Fastback TRANSMISSION: Manual EXTERIOR COLOR: Red MILEAGE: 90,304 INTERIOR COLOR: White VEHICLE FEATURES & OPTIONS Vinyl Interior,AM Radio SELLER REMARKS Go back in time when the likes of Fireball Roberts raced 1964 Ford Galaxies to repeated Nascar victories and this 500XL 2-door fastback will remind you of those times.
