Bought in 2003 with 60k on the clock. Drove until 2008 when I bought a Camry stick, since then I've only driven during the summer but since my wife and I have four vehcles we must get rid of something and this is the one. Really a great car with the big six. Total mileage is 85525 miles. Cruises at 80--85 smooth as silk. Sounds like a sewing machine.This car was 48 thousand dollars in 1986. It has the Recaro bucket seats that are totally electronically adjustable. Sunroof has fully open and tilt options.Interior is full leather. Still has the original Blaupunkt radio but it is unreliable--probably needs replacement. Seat adjusters all work and the BMW electronics all work. The Diagnostic electronics work but are hard to see in the daylight. Car drives slow off the line but second gear, third gear and fourth all pull like crazy. Don't know what the top end is--never been there. MAINTENANCE__ Put dash rug on as soon as I got this car so the dash has only a few small cracks in the vinyl. Cotton seat covers on in 2004. Put the M5 front control arms at 80k. Wires, rotor,dist. cap and plugs done at 64k. Front drilled brake rotors, pads and stainless lines done at 68182 miles. Valves adjusted and fuel filter with the cam follower adjusted at 65600 miles. Differential fluid changed to Amsoil at 66200 miles. Trannie fluid changed to Amsoil at 67106 miles. Idle control valve and hoses at at 67701 miles. Changed to platinum plugs at 70571 miles. Upgraded sway bars and links and the 02 sensor changed at 74021 miles. Magnaflow catalytic converter put on 74050 miles. Upgraded to 16 inch Wheels with Falken tires 225-50-16 at 74755 miles. Exhaust and resonator replaced at 83000 this summer. Original BMW wheels and tires will be included as they have been in my garage since I took them off. I have always used Amsoil synthetic oil since its been in my care. Power steering fluid and all brake fluids drained and changed. Antifreeze has been BMW brand which is the best. NEGATIVES----There are three spots of rust that are starting on this car. One on the hood where I think some mechanic closed the hood with a screwdriver under the hood and stretched the metal. Each back fender has a spot starting where the tires kick up onto the fender undersides. I photoed each spot. The paint is very tired and it does need a new paint job. Antennae stills go up and down but not all the way up. Inspection just expired in October. Radio is unreliable and should be replaced. Cruise control stalk has become unattached and hangs but still can be turned on and works well. Fix requires steering column cover removal. Not necessary to use but easier and looks nicer if repaired. Seriously, this is a great car that should be loved and deserves a garage .I lost mine so rather than have this be subject to the weather up here in the northeast it should go to a good home. I will let this go with NO RESERVE. Please take care of this classic. Should go 200,000 plus miles. Loves the synthetic. Starts $1000. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
