Vehicle Detail
I am selling my prize Helex. As you can see, I have three others for sale. (Actually own four, but my black 99 is not for sale) You may ask why do I own four Honda Helex's? The answer is simple, I LOVE them........and a bit of a story. My wife and I were going to buy a home in Florida, we didn't. My wife was going to get her motorcycle license, she doesn't want to now. My wife perfers to ride on the back, that's OK, I ride a Harley as well and I'm used to it....no biggie. This bike is nicest one on the planet. First of all, it's the last year Honda made them. I purchsed it last year on E-bay from the son of an elderly man who bought a new Helex every two years. Only months after buying this one, the man died. It had 457 miles on it. It now has 537 miles on it. That's right, I've only put 80 miles on it. Of course it has always been kept in a dry clean garage. This summer I went to ride it for the first time and it wouldn't start. Of course all the time it sat, the carb got gummed up. I took it to the Honda dealer where they cleaned the carb and replaced a needle valve. Needless to say, it runs like new. If you don't know anything about these bikes, they have quite the history. They have been making the Helex since the 80's, and they are completely the same bikes ever year they made them. There was a man who rode one all over the world and wrote a book about it. It gets 70+mph, goes highway speeds 80mph, (Legal for the highway) and rides like a big bike even with two people on it. This is due to the longer wheel base. You can also still get many many option for it including but not limited too, a stereo, back rests, big storage box in the top of the trunk, running lights for the trunk. All kinds of things. I am including a battery tender with the bike and a cover. I saw this bike and had to have it. I have two 1999's and a 1994. I wasn't going to miss out on the last year Honda made this great bike. It has a huge trunk and will hold bags and bags or groceries or two helmets and jackets. It is smooth, powerful and glides around corners. Honda should never have stopped making the Helex, as nothing compares to it even today. I will deliver in an enclosed trailer in NH, southern Vermont, Mass, CT or, RI for for $200. I'm not making any money on this bike, even losing some. This bike was over $7000 new. Good luck and happy bidding!
