Vehicle Detail

This is a 2009 2 door hatch Toyota Yaris converted to electric by Li-Ion Motors about 2 years ago. The car has 88 Kokham 100 AH Lithium cells (3.7 volts nominal per cell times 88 cells at 100 AH each equals about 32.5kwh for the pack) utilizing an Azure DMOC445 controller and Azure AC24 motor with corresponding single speed AT1200 gearbox. I tested the range on 11/5/11. I drove the car 151 miles on a single charge, 100 of the miles were driving at 55 to 60 mph on the highway while the remaining 50 miles were typical suburban driving at 35 to 45 mph with traffic lights. Conditions were pretty good with temperatures in the low to mid 60s and the terrain was Atlanta's rolling hills and fairly level interstates. Top speed is said to be 80mph, but I have never gone above 70mph. The drive train makes a fair amount of noise as you approach and exceed 60 mph, but doesn't seem to get any worse after that point. The motor and controller are both air cooled. The fan that cools the motor is on anytime the car is on so there is always an audible sound coming from the car. The car has an added battery management screen that shows speed, state of charge (both numericly and graphicly), power consumtion in kw, amp draw, cell voltages (including highest and lowest) as well as highest battery temperature. It has power brakes, power steering, both heating and air conditioning for your comfort that work very well and a Kenwood car stereo that has Bluetooth, USB and auxillary inputs. The car is now a two seater with the batteries located in a box behind the front seats forming a very flat and large rear cargo area. The battery box does have a heater to keep the batteries warm in colder climates. The battery charger is a Brusa NLG5 which is a 3.3kw charger when plugged into a 240 volt outlet, but it can also utilize a standard 120 volt outlet too. Adapters are available, but not included here, to allow the car to utilize the new J1772 EVSE infrastructure. The maximum SOC is about 97% when the charge is complete, because there is one cell out of the 88 that is about .15 volts higher than the rest causing the BMS to shutdown charging at that point. This one cell remains the highest voltage cell thru out discharge too so it appears to be a bit stronger than the rest. I am the orignal owner of the car which I bought and delivered to Li-Ion Motors new. The car has had several technical problems thru the first 2 years which Li-Ion Motors has repaired under warranty. Hopefully those problems are behind the car now, but they did include controller failure, speed sensor failure, a sticking air conditioning relay and most recently CV joint replacement. The original warranty has expired with the car. Li-Ion Motors is located in Mooresville, NC and they could probably continue to support the car. If not then many of the main components are off the shelf units such as the Azure controller and motor, the Brusa charger and the MES heater. The interior and exterior of the car are in very good shape, but there are a few very small scratches, but no dings or rust that I am aware of. The car is being Sold As Is with no warranty implied.
