Vehicle Detail

1981 Daimler DS420 Nine Passenger Limousine New baby and upcoming Middel East deployment forces sale! This car turns heads everywhere I go and is a great conversation piece!!! Own something unique today. This car was not owned by anyone famous or royalty, but it looks like the same car that they have. Several Daimler DS420s were in the Royal Wedding earlier this year. Pretty cool! More pictures at www.classicbritishlimo.com/daimler.htm I am listing this locally, so if someone makes the right offer I will cancel the Ebay auction. VIN: DWATL3AC200112 Engine Number: 17M4273L Color: Black with blue grey in rear and black in driver's compartment. Sliding divider between compartments. 3 Speed Automatic GM400 Transmission, Power Steering, and Power Brakes. No a/c or radio (but there is a place for both). Lots of extra parts!!! I purchased the car four years ago shortly after it was imported with the intent to upgrade it to a highly spec'd model and use it for my classic car limousine service. Thus, I have collected numerous parts to upgrade the interior. This includes: front and rear door pockets with speakers, rear headrests from an XJ6 VP, Rear Reading Lamps, 3rd Brakelight and wiring harness from 1987 XJ6, and Burled Gear knob. Work done includes: Lumenition electronic ignition, new coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, new electronic (no points) fuel pump on left hand side, rebuilt fuel pump on right side, drained fuel tanks, replaced all filters, new battery, and new starter carburater installed. The car also comes with about $2000 of parts that I have purchased for it. This includes: two new door skins from Jaguar, new SS rear mufflers and mounts, belts, Kevlar hoses for radiator and heater, new reverse lights (they rust from the inside out!), chrome XK engine nut detail kit, Daimler decals for Cam Covers, Daimler badge for the radiator grill (the leaper is not correct, but it comes with the car), extra transmission filter, gas tank filters, and thermostat and gasket. Plus more!!! Exterior condition: the paint is good from about 10 feet. Once you get closer, you can see rust bubbles and deterioration on the sills (typical), lower door edges and frame (typical), and front wheel arches (again typical for the DS420). Interior Front: the floor carpet is worn in the driver's area. Passenger carpet is good. Two 4" tears down the seams of the seat. May be able to be restitched. Wood has no missing veneer, however, there is cracks and checking on the dash. Door wood is hazing and some loss of finish, particularly on passenger door. Gauges and switches work. Tachometer works. The speedometer does not - maybe wire or transducer issue. Mileage is thus not accurate. Interior Rear: New floor carpets, no rips or tears in the leather (some scuffing), wood is in very good condition beneath the sliding glass. No missing veneer on the doors and rear windows, but there is hazing on most of those pieces. Headliner is complete with no rips, sagging, or tears, however, it probably needs to be steam cleaned. The headlining around the rear window will need to be replaced (it is a separate piece from the main headliner). The fold-up seats are in very good condition. Interior chrome thorughout is in very good condition. All windows and door locks work (they're not power assisted though). Engine: Runs well. No smoke. Carbs may need some adjustment. Transmission: Shifts smoothly. Brakes: Good, but I have not had the car inspected. I have the UK Registration documents, dealer transfer document (Georgia), copies of the EPA and import paperwork. I have not been able to get the car registered in Pennsylvania (they want original EPA paperwork, which cannot be found). I have heard PA is very difficult with importing cars, so your state may be much easier. From others I have spoken to this seems to be the case. I just wanted to disclose that so there are no suprises. The car has not been inspected due to the registration challenge. I've tried to be as truthful about the car as possible. It's a cool machine, but it will need some bodywork attention in the near future. More pictures at www.classicbritishlimo.com/daimler.htm Contact me if you have any questions. Happy bidding!
