Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car used for my wife to use as a daily driver. She carted our kids around in it happily for a few years, but it's time to move on. When purchased, the vehicle was unmodified except for some red paint on the intercooler in the engine bay, a boost gauge and mild window tint which my wife actually ended up loving as it kept the interior cooler on hot days. The previous owner also installed an alarm/remote start unit with a 2 way remote. I know the previous owner who installed made those changes and it was totally stock when he purchased it. While this is a performance wagon, my wife is not interested in performance cars and it has not been raced or anything of that nature while we've owned it. I am a stickler for maintenance and with my wife and kids in the car nothing was skipped. I also own a shop specializing in Subarus so the timing belt, water pump, timing pulleys, fuel filter, air filter, brake pads and rotors, tires, and spark plugs were all changed. The transmission, rear differential, engine oils were replaced as well as the coolant. The brakes were also flushed and bled with ATE DOT 4 fluid. The radiator developed the common leak where the plastic end tank is crimped onto the aluminum core so we upgraded it to a Koyo full aluminum racing radiator so I knew that wouldn't happen again. We even put a lower mileage stock turbo in it for greater longevity. We've had the car parked for a bit as my wife drives another Subaru now and the old battery wasn't holding a charge well after sitting for a while so I just put a new Napa Battery in it. Pirelli all season tires have low miles on them and lots of tread left. No check engine codes. All monitors set readiness. Inspection valid until February 2012. There is a performance downpipe in place so if you have any questions or concerns regarding getting the vehicle inspected please contact me via ebay messenger prior to purchase. We can swap a stock downpipe with stock cats back in the car if purchaser prefers that to the performance downpipe. Downpipe swap request must be made at point of purchase if purchaser wants to do that. We upgraded the struts to KYB GR2s as the stock ones were worn. The downpipe and uppipe were also replaced for greater engine longevity as the converters in these parts can fail on WRXs of this vintage. The vehicle has a mild tune on it purely for safety and runs on 91 or 93 octane fuel. (91 or better is required on this vehicle when stock anyway). My wife has been running it on nothing but 93 octane at my request for extra safety. The exterior of the car was repainted to freshen up the paint a couple years ago. It is not a show quality paint job by any means. The car also has blemishes, scratches, dents so please review the pictures and view it in person to check them out. The car is sold as is. No returns, no warranty expressed or implied. If you have any questions or concerns about the car please send them to me via the ebay message function prior to purchase. If paying by certified bank check from a US bank or Money order, I will wait until it clears my bank account to transfer ownership. This usually takes my bank, HSBC, 3 business days. If paying with a Canadian certified bank check, I've had this take up to a month for my bank to clear. The time that takes is in the bank's hands so plan accordingly. US cash payment requires no waiting period. The car is available for viewing by appointment in Buffalo, NY. Please contact 716-873-7360 and ask for Mike to set up a time.
